XREAL has officially launched its accessible and inclusive sub-brand X By XREAL, or xbx, alongside the debut of its first AR glasses in the series, a01.
X By XREAL’s a01 features a class-leading 1600-nit HDR10 ultra-bright display—the brightest in its category—and the lightest frame at just 62g. It offers a stable anti-shake mode and customizable interchangeable front frames, making the a01 the most feature-rich AR glasses at an accessible price, creating an immersive and fun spatial big-screen experience for everyday life.
The new X By XREAL brand focuses on passion, self-expression, and creativity. It aims to create devices that let people enjoy their favorite worlds. Whether enhancing gaming on the go or hanging out with friends in virtual spaces, the brand’s mission is clear: Just Play.
The a01 has a light and semi-transparent body with a customizable front-frame design. Users can easily switch between transparent and immersive viewing modes with XREAL’s chromatic dimming features, and change the front frame to match their outfit or mood. This stylish accessory is comfortable to wear both indoors and outdoors, allowing wearers to express their personal style. Tinkerers can even 3D print their own front-frame accessories.
The a01 introduces a lightweight augmented reality (AR) headset, weighing only 62g, addressing common issues of traditional head-mounted devices such as heaviness and discomfort for long wear. It features a custom ultra-light nylon body, thinner lenses, and a newly designed hinge and temple-tip structure, resulting in significant material and structural weight reduction.

The glasses feature a refined premium design with careful light, shadow, and line treatments for a clean appearance. They include ergonomic nose pads, elastic hinges, and flexible temples for a comfortable fit. Designed for extended use, a01 ensures comfort whether watching shows or gaming.
a01 offers a significant advancement in visual performance with a brightness of 1600 nits and 14 brightness levels, featuring dual-layer Micro OLED displays and an image enhancement chip that support 1.07 billion colors and HDR10.
It provides global real-time AI SDR-to-HDR conversion for a cinematic look with 1600 nits brightness, ensuring dynamic contrast and color saturation in various lighting. Users experience a 147-inch ultra-clear display from four meters away, enhancing clarity and detail across films, shows, and games for a more immersive experience.
The a01 features an easy-to-use 0 degrees-of-freedom experience with an industry-first spatial anti-shake algorithm that minimizes image blurring and color washout. This technology preserves original image clarity during real-world situations like subway rides and turbulence, offering users a stable and enjoyable visual experience anywhere and anytime.
A common challenge in the entry-level AR market is that products often feel repetitive. The a01 AR glasses are officially available starting in China. They are expected to launch in the US in July, starting at $299.
