
The Selangor State Government has formalised a collaboration between Sunway Medical Centre (SMC) and SELCARE under Skim Rawatan Jantung Negeri Selangor. The event, attended by YB Jamaliah Jamaluddin, aims to improve early diagnosis and treatment for heart disease, especially for vulnerable communities.
This memorandum of understanding (MoU) highlights SMC’s commitment to CSR and its partnership with SELCARE to advance public health. SELCARE focuses on providing affordable healthcare to underserved populations, while SMC enhances access to quality cardiac care. By partnering with Malaysia’s largest private quaternary hospital, the initiative seeks to impact Anak Selangor significantly, offering services at no or reduced costs.
“Sunway Medical Centre has always been dedicated to providing the highest standard of patient care,” said Dr Seow Vei Ken, the Chief Executive Officer of Sunway Medical Centre, Sunway City. “We are proud of our 28 Centres of Excellence, including our renowned Heart, Lung & Vascular Centre, and our commitment to leveraging the latest medical technologies and expert healthcare professionals to serve our community. We have 13 cardiologists, covering both adult and paediatric care, and offer a comprehensive range of cardiology subspecialties while supported by full diagnostic centre with state-of-the-art facilities which includes the latest MRI scanners, cardiac CTs, catheterisation laboratory, and coronary care beds. This partnership with SELCARE reflects our ongoing commitment to enhancing healthcare accessibility and delivering high-quality care to underserved communities, in line with our CSR initiatives. We are excited to see the positive impact this programme will have on the lives of Anak Selangor especially those who need it most.”
