Samsung Electronics is proud to announce the Odyssey Cup Dota 2 Championship, where professional and amateur gamers from Southeast Asia (SEA) and Oceania will compete. Following the success of last year’s Influencer Invitational and Campus League, the 2024 Odyssey Cup aims to unite a larger gaming community, offering an immersive experience for players and spectators.
Open to gaming enthusiasts aged 18 and above, this edition of the Odyssey Cup features Samsung’s new gaming monitors designed for esports. The Pro vs. Amateur format allows aspiring gamers to compete against professionals, creating an inclusive environment for players of all levels. The tournament will showcase Dota 2, a game known for its strategic complexity and vibrant esports community.
The tournament involves qualifiers from six SEA markets, along with four invited pro teams, competing for a spot in the grand finals. Two teams from Oceania markets will also participate in the playoffs for a chance to win up to a $20,000 cash prize pool.
The tournament will kick off virtually, with online qualifiers from 21 to 25 September 2024, followed by the SEA finals on 28 and 29 September 2024. All eight teams will then compete for the top spot in an exciting grand finale that will be held at the Hatten Hotel in Melaka, with the playoffs scheduled from 10 to 13 October 2024.
