OPPO Malaysia and Tourism Malaysia have recently teamed up by signing a Memorandum of Collaboration (MoC). This partnership builds on OPPO’s Rediscovering Malaysia Through the Lens campaign from May, focusing on supporting local artists and photographers. They will receive tools to showcase Malaysia’s rich culture and beauty to the world.
Using OPPO’s Find X Series smartphones, skilled photographers like Haziq Zuki, Yusuf Madi, and Zairul Puad traveled around Malaysia to capture its hidden gems, including unique spaces, places, and cultural moments. The campaign led them to lesser-known areas, documenting seaside communities, unexplored paths, and heritage that is often overlooked. They visited Wau Sobek Sering in Kelantan, where craftsmen share stories of traditional wau-making, highlighting Malaysian culture’s diversity. Under the dark skies of Mersing, they photographed the stunning Milky Way above the rocky landscapes of Pulau Mawar, creating a spectacular view of this hidden coastal paradise.

The MoC ceremony featured Tourism Malaysia giving out Certificates of Appreciation to creatives for showcasing Malaysia’s hidden stories and gems. The images are available on OPPO Malaysia’s Instagram and the creatives’ accounts, highlighting Malaysia’s beauty to a global audience.

This collaboration builds on our previous Strategic Communication Programme in Kelantan, which involved 15 participants from OPPO Malaysia. We are pleased to continue this collaboration in highlighting Malaysia’s unique destinations and experiences through the power of visual storytelling,” said Mr Mohd Akbal Setia, Deputy Director General (Promotions) and Head of the Visit Malaysia 2026–2027 Secretariat, Tourism Malaysia.
This partnership continues OPPO’s dedication to highlighting Malaysia using imaging technology. The 2024 “#OPPOMalaysiaThroughTheLens” campaign and Coffee Table Book showcase OPPO’s True-to-Life imaging to focus on and preserve five traditional Malaysian art forms, like Wayang Kulit and the Ngajat dance. “Rediscovering Malaysia Through the Lens” takes this further, moving from cultural preservation to exploring destinations.
A New Flagship on the Horizon
Beyond this initiative, photography lovers and the general public can look forward to the upcoming OPPO Find X10 Series. Launching soon in Malaysia with new ColorOS features, this flagship phone will help Malaysians capture the beauty of their surroundings, vibrant cultures, and everyday moments in striking color and detail.

These workshops, led by professional photographers and content creators, will be held at OPPO stores every weekend starting on October 24th.
