During MY BMW World 2025, BMW Malaysia has officially previewed for its upcoming 2025 BMW R 1300 RT, the latest evolution of its touring motorcycle. With a lighter design and a powerful 1,300 cc boxer engine, it offers class-leading comfort, advanced technology, and outstanding BMW performance.

The 2025 BMW R 1300 RT: Touring, Redefined.
With a bold new design that enhances both form and function, the BMW R 1300 RT introduces a lighter, sleeker profile that complements its commanding road presence. In the Standard variant, it features a clean visual signature that reflects its long-distance touring pedigree, now with sharper lines and a flatter tank ramp for improved visibility and agility. Distinguished by its brushed stainless steel rear silencer and polished manifold, the motorcycle also has a Mineral Grey metallic matt fuel tank. This reduction in rotational mass sharpens handling and improves braking responsiveness. In addition to the Standard model in Alpine White, the BMW R 1300 RT will also arrive in two dynamic variants: the Triple Black in Blackstorm metallic and the athletic Impulse in Racing Blue metallic.
The Triple Black variant features a Dark Chrome exhaust manifold, forged handlebars, and a high touring windshield for a bold profile. In contrast, the Impulse variant stands out with a sports windshield, design option wheels, and a unique variable slipstream deflector.
The 2025 BMW R 1300 RT offers perfected ergonomics for both active and relaxed riding. The reshaped rider triangle positions the handlebars wider and forward, improving control. Passenger comfort is enhanced with a longer rear seat and re-contoured side cases for more legroom. Comfort seats for rider and passenger come standard across all variants, ensuring support for long journeys.
The BMW R 1300 RT features side cases in body color (27 litres each), with optional Vario cases on Limited Edition units offering electrified features, increasing capacity to 33 litres. The left-hand case includes a USB-C port, enhancing fuel efficiency and aerodynamics. Optional topcases (39 or 54 litres) provide additional storage, with the larger unit offering electric operation and heated backrest for passenger comfort.
The bike is powered by a 1,300 cc twin-cylinder boxer engine, the most powerful BMW boxer to date, delivering 107 kW (145 hp) at 7,750 rpm and 149 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. Its design features a larger bore, shorter stroke, and optimized valves for a broad torque curve and responsive throttle, suitable for both winding roads and long trips.
The BMW R 1300 RT maintains its fuel efficiency thanks to BMW ShiftCam technology, optimizing performance or efficiency. The new 17-inch hollow-spoke cast aluminum wheels enhance handling and reduce weight by 1.4 kg.
It features three riding modes: “Rain”, “Road”, and “Eco”, adjusting throttle response, traction control, and torque delivery based on conditions. Riding Modes Pro adds Dynamic and Dynamic Pro for sharper performance. The suspension includes the EVO Telelever and EVO Paralever systems, with improved precision and enhanced power delivery. Both systems provide significant spring travel and electronic adjustment.
The new full LED headlight ensures superior visibility, incorporating twelve low beam and five high beam LEDs, with adaptive cornering lights and modes for safer riding at night.
Advanced Connectivity and Dynamic Assistance for every Touring Journey
To boost confidence for long-distance riding, the All-New BMW R 1300 RT comes with many advanced safety and support features. Standard options include Dynamic Traction Control (DTC), Engine Drag Torque Control (MSR), Dynamic Brake Control (DBC), and BMW Motorrad Integral ABS Pro, which provide reliable braking, even in sharp turns.
The Riding Assistant package enhances safety with smart radar-based technologies, such as Active Cruise Control (ACC) that keeps a safe distance, Front Collision Warning (FCW) with braking support, and Lane Change Warning (SWW) to help with blind spots.
The Dynamic Package, now standard on all models, offers improved performance and control, featuring Dynamic Chassis Adaption (DCA) and Riding Modes Pro. It also includes the Sport Brake System, which enhances stopping power with eye-catching titanium-colored calipers, as well as the Automated Shift Assistant (ASA) that allows for gear changes without using the clutch, in both manual and automatic modes.
The bike now comes with a high-resolution 10.25-inch full-color display that clearly shows speed, navigation, media, and more. Riders can switch between full-screen and split-screen views for better navigation or information display. The display also acts as a connection hub for smartphones and wearable devices like heated jackets. Simple controls let riders access functions like seat and grip heating, media, and navigation easily. The system integrates with the BMW Motorrad Connected App for navigation updates, route planning, ride tracking, and performance information.
A popular feature for RT riders, the Audio system, has been improved in the latest BMW R 1300 RT. It builds on the existing 2.0 audio system from the BMW R 1250 RT, offering better sound quality and new features. The system includes DAB/DAB+ digital radio, adaptive sound settings, and easy Bluetooth connections, with audio available through connected helmets or built-in speakers.
In the bike, riders can enjoy a new Audio system with premium separate tweeters, midrange speakers, and woofers. The Audio Pro system, available in the Limited Edition variants, adjusts sound based on speed, while the upgraded silver speaker grilles with gold-dome elements add a stylish touch to the cockpit.
The Power of Choice in Motion: Limited Edition Variants of the Ultimate Touring Machine
To mark the Malaysian debut of the 2025 BMW R 1300 RT, BMW Motorrad Malaysia introduces two Limited Edition variants: the BMW R 1300 RT Triple Black Limited Edition and the BMW R 1300 RT Impulse Limited Edition, with only five units of each available nationwide.
The Triple Black variant boasts a stealthy Blackstorm Metallic finish with the Style Triple Black treatment, while the Impulse variant features a dynamic Racing Blue Metallic finish with the Style Impulse package.
Both variants come equipped with the full Comfort Package, including Central Locking, a Main Centre Stand, an Anti-Theft alarm system, and an adjustable electrified luggage system for improved aerodynamics. The Audio Pro system delivers studio-quality sound through premium speakers.
