
Huawei ICT Competition Malaysia 2024–2025 awards ceremony has recently ended with 16 students and instructors winning in the Cloud, Network, Computing, and Innovation tracks, from over 1,200 participants from 40 universities.

Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) won the Innovation Track with instructor Chong Yung Wey and students Lim Miin Ning, Naomi Tham Kah Mun, and Bok Wei Hong. USM Vice-Chancellor Professor Dato’ Seri Ir. Dr. Abdul Rahman Mohamed praised the achievement as a testament to their commitment to innovation and employability.
Universiti Malaya (UM) won the Cloud Track, with Dr Rafidah Binti Md Noor and students Chew Ying Ying, Lee Xim Er, and Cheu Zi Yuan. Dr Rafidah emphasized the trophy as a symbol of collaboration and potential in ICT.
Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM), led by Ahmad Alauddin Ariffin, secured the Network Track prize, with student Nurul Natasha expressing gratitude for their support.
Universiti Tunku Abdul Rahman (Kampar) took home the Computing Track award, represented by Dr Aun Yichiet and his team.
Additionally, six educators were recognized with the Huawei Malaysia Most Dedicated Instructors 2024 awards, and six institutions received the Huawei Malaysia Outstanding ICT Academies 2024 award.
The ceremony included a speech by UMS Vice-Chancellor and a Memorandum of Understanding exchange focusing on advancing ICT education, followed by the Digital Talent Forum Day 2024, convening over 100 instructors to discuss strategies in digital education.
