Eco-Shop is launching its “Satu Senyuman, Seribu Makna” campaign from 4 August to 28 September 2025, aligned with this year’s Merdeka theme, “Malaysia MADANI: Rakyat Disantuni.” The campaign showcases Eco-Shop’s commitment to the community.
This year’s celebration features chef Che Sayang as the campaign ambassador, embodying the spirit of togetherness. Eco-Shop also collaborates with The Budimas Charitable Foundation, supporting underprivileged children, which aligns with the campaign’s mission.
Jessica Ng, Chief Executive Officer of Eco-Shop Malaysia, shared, “This campaign is unlike anything we’ve done before. We wanted to create something that Malaysians can truly connect with. It’s not just about what we give, but how we make people feel. It goes beyond the usual promotions by creating shared experiences that feel authentic and inclusive.”
Through this partnership, Eco-Shop will extend its celebrations beyond retail, bringing joy to underprivileged groups through food and acts of kindness. The highlight is the Biggest Jamuan Merdeka on Saturday, 20 September 2025, a community gathering for a meaningful meal in the spirit of unity, featuring Che Sayang preparing and serving food to children.
Additionally, Eco-Shop will organize charity home visits with The Budimas Charitable Foundation and a Merdeka-themed decoration contest at Sekolah Kebangsaan Ampang, reflecting its mission to connect with Malaysians and make a lasting impact.

The celebration will include exclusive in-store promotions nationwide, where shoppers with a minimum purchase of RM30 on participating brands can receive a free limited-edition Eco-Shop tote bag and participate in the record-setting Jamuan Merdeka alongside Che Sayang. Stores will also sell Malaysian flags for RM2.00 to ignite the Merdeka spirit.
“Satu Senyuman, Seribu Makna speaks to the idea that even the simplest gesture can hold deep meaning. Whether it’s sharing a meal, home visits, or decorating your classroom, these moments may seem small on their own, but together, they create something powerful. It’s our way of celebrating Merdeka – not just with flags and fanfare, but with real, human connection,” added Jessica.
