Defending Champions NEW ERA Wins PMNC Malaysia Summer 2025

The PUBG MOBILE National Championship (PMNC) Malaysia Summer 2025 has concluded, showcasing emerging talent in the esports arena. Teams NEW ERA (NWE) and MAQNA ESPORTS CLUB (MEC) secured their spots for the upcoming PUBG MOBILE Super League (PMSL) SEA Summer in Indonesia. In the Solo category, 27LAMINA claimed the top prize.

With over a thousand teams participating from various universities and amateur organizations in Malaysia, fierce competition characterized the qualifiers. The final showdown featured established powerhouses, including MEC, NWE, AZ SLUMBER (AZ), and DX STREAM (DX), all vying for a share of the RM10,000 prize pool.

NWE dominated the Finals, achieving the Smash Rule and securing a smasher point of 129 with a Winner Winner Chicken Dinner (WWCD) in both the first and third matches. MEC nearly claimed the Top 1 spot but fell short by one point in their first match and struggled to maintain momentum in the final game.

DX revamped their lineup with four new members, including standout RIOO, who had an impressive WWCD on day 1 with 28 eliminations. However, they couldn’t secure Top 2 slots for PMSL SEA, making RIOO a target for scouting by other teams.

In the Solo category, 833 players competed for the “Winner Winner Chicken Dinner” and a share of the RM3,000 prize pool. The Grand Finals featured a thrilling match between 27LAMINA and KIDZJA, with 27LAMINA winning with remarkable long-range accuracy, raising questions about his potential recruitment by professional teams.

Eugene Chin, Country Manager (Malaysia) of Tencent Games, said, “It is exciting to see the amazing talents that have risen to the ranks through this tournament. The PMNC was established to nurture local talent and open doors for them to compete internationally. Congratulations to all the winners and good luck for the PMSL SEA Summer 2025 Tournament.”

“Tencent Games’ commitment to fostering the growth of the local esports scene and providing opportunities for Malaysian players to compete on a global platform. The PMNC serves as a vital platform for discovering and cultivating promising talent within the nation’s PUBG MOBILE community”, he added.
