Canon Marketing Malaysia (“Canon”) has officially kickstarted its nationwide “Created To Explore” EOS R8 Mark II Experience Tour 2026 in Kuala Lumpur, where visitors have an opportunity to hands-on access to the newly launched EOS R8 Mark II.

The nationwide programme allows creative communities in Malaysia to try the EOS R8 Mark II. It offers practical shooting experiences along with tips from Canon experts and fellow creators. By using the camera in real settings, Canon hopes to inspire creators to discover new ideas, encourage them to expand their creativity, and help them grow in full-frame photography and content creation.

Masato Yoshiie, President & CEO of Canon Marketing Malaysia, said,
“Today, photography and storytelling are more than capturing what we see. They are about sharing our own ideas, perspectives and experiences with others. The EOS R8 Mark II reflects our commitment to giving photographers and content creators freedom and confidence to explore their creativity. Guided by our Kyosei philosophy of living and working together for the common good, Canon remains committed to supporting Malaysia’s creative community and creating more opportunities for creators to grow their craft. That is the spirit behind this Experience Tour.”
Edward Chang, Head of Division, Image Communication Business, Canon Marketing Malaysia, said,
“The way people create today continues to evolve. For us at Canon, this means we need to stay close to the community, understand how creators work, and continue finding ways to support their growth. Beyond its features, we want you to see how the EOS R8 Mark II performs in different shooting situations and discover how it can fit into the way you create.”

The Kuala Lumpur event included sessions with Canon EOS Specialist Marcus Choo, content creator ZY Cheng, and Canon EOS Master Johnson Wee. They shared insights about photography, videography, and content creation. Attendees had the chance to try out the EOS R8 Mark II across five different shooting setups, such as a live graffiti artist, model portraits, a dance battle, a Muay Thai performance, and skateboarding. These varied scenes were designed to test different photography techniques while allowing users to see the camera’s features in real-life situations.
In addition to the hands-on experience, Canon will launch a “Created To Explore” photo contest during the main events in Kuala Lumpur, Penang, and Kuching. Attendees can submit photos taken with the EOS R8 Mark II at the event, along with their thoughts on the camera and program. This contest encourages participants to continue exploring their creativity beyond the event and share their unique images.
After Kuala Lumpur, the “Created To Explore” contest will be in Penang on 31 October 2026 and in Kuching on 7 November 2026. It will also include workshops in Kedah, Ipoh, Kota Bharu, Johor Bahru, Melaka, Kota Kinabalu, and Kuantan throughout October and November, bringing Canon’s latest technology and creative knowledge to more photography communities in Malaysia.
Participants can buy the EOS R8 Mark II at certain stops, and events will provide special door gifts and free cleaning services for Canon cameras and lenses.
Registration for the “Created To Explore” EOS R8 Mark II Experience Tour 2026 is priced at RM35 per person, with places available on a first-come, first-served basis.
