Bursa Malaysia and The Edge are excited to work together on the Bursa Bull Charge × The Edge KL Rat Race 2026. This is a special corporate run that brings both organizations together for Malaysia’s capital market.
This event focuses on including Persons with Disabilities (PWD) and promotes education and financial knowledge. It aims to support Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) and create more inclusive workplaces.
With the tagline “Run as One. Run for All,” the Bull Charge × Rat Race 2026 has been designed to ensure accessibility and equal participation, from planning to race day. This includes easy-to-navigate routes and facilities, as well as opportunities for PWD to join runners, volunteers, and ambassadors. There will also be a one-mile dash for C-Suite executives and PWD runners, promoting solidarity and inclusion.
The Bull Charge × Rat Race 2026 will take place as a night run on 28 November 2026. It will feature a 5-kilometre course through key areas in Kuala Lumpur, starting and ending at Bursa Malaysia, and passing through Jalan Raja Chulan, Jalan Sultan Ismail, and Jalan Ampang.
Dato’ Fad’l Mohamed, Chief Executive Officer of Bursa Malaysia, said, “Bursa Bull Charge has brought together over 12,000 runners and raised about RM18 million for more than 170 charities, demonstrating the collective power of the capital market to create impact that extends beyond the finish line.”
“As Bursa Malaysia marks its 50th anniversary, we aspire to go further this year by encouraging the widest-ever participation across Corporate Malaysia through this collaboration with The Edge. We believe that Bursa Bull Charge × The Edge KL Rat Race 2026 will be a powerful expression of what can be achieved when people come together behind a shared purpose, helping to build a future where every Malaysian has the opportunity to participate, contribute and succeed,” he added.
The run is part of Bursa Malaysia’s effort to promote inclusive job opportunities for people with disabilities (PWD) as a key priority for diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). This includes creating Malaysia’s Inclusive Employment (MINE) Playbook with the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) to provide organizations with useful tools and frameworks for building more inclusive workplaces and talent systems.
Dato’ Ho Kay Tat, Publisher and Group Chief Executive Officer of The Edge Media Group, said, “Since the first Rat Race in 2000, millions have raised for charity and benefitted many NGOs working with PWD. For the last 10-plus years, through The Edge Education Foundation, we have focused on access to better opportunities for the less fortunate and PWD, through both education and training.”
From 2016, The Edge Education Foundation has aimed to provide financial education to young people, teaching them about saving, money management, budgeting, and avoiding debt traps and scams. The foundation partners with corporations, philanthropists, and teachers to run its financial literacy program, ‘Money & Me: Youth Financial Empowerment Programme,’ in schools across the country.
“Increasing the level of financial literacy among individuals will contribute towards financial inclusion,” Datuk Ho added.
