BMW Malaysia is celebrating the 50th Anniversary of the iconic BMW 3 Series by announcing the BMW M340i xDrive Edition 50 Jahre. Over seven generations, the BMW 3 Series has not only shaped the global identity of the BMW brand, but has also become an integral part of Malaysia’s automotive history since the 1970s.
BMW Group reports strong global performance in Q1, with notable growth in BEV sales
In the first quarter of 2025, BMW Group delivered 586,149 vehicles worldwide, maintaining strong performance from the previous year. The Group saw a 32.4% increase in fully-electric vehicle deliveries, totaling 109,516 units. The BMW brand accounted for 520,142 units, including 86,449 fully-electric vehicles, while MINI achieved a 4.1% growth with 64,626 units delivered. Additionally, BMW Motorrad delivered 44,609 motorcycles and scooters, showcasing the brand’s strength in both two- and four-wheeled mobility.
With its sights set on the future, the BMW Group aims to achieve two strategic milestones in 2025: delivering three million electrified vehicles since the launch of the BMW i3 and i8, and 1.5 million fully-electric vehicles globally, reinforcing its leadership in sustainable mobility.

The BMW M340i xDrive Edition 50 Jahre features upgrades like Sensatec upholstery, Active Cruise Control, Parking Assistant Plus, a Luxury Instrument Panel, Galvanic Buttons, and an M Rear Spoiler for a better driving experience. It includes standard M Performance parts, such as M Performance Side Skirt Extensions. Inside, the armrest is wrapped in Alcantara, and the gearshift paddles are made of Carbon Fibre, enhancing the look and feel. This edition also has a “50 Jahre Edition” insignia on the cup holder and a special engraving on the b-pillar to highlight its limited production.
The BMW M340i xDrive Edition 50 Jahre is powered by the 3.0-litre B58 In-line 6 engine delivering an impressive 285 kW (387hp) and 500 Nm of torque, accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 4.4 seconds and reaching a top speed of 250 km/h.
