Bianca Bustamante to make inaugural debut at GB3 on 26-27 Apr 2025

Filipino rising star female racer, Bianca Bustamante, is making her GB3 Championship debut at the Silverstone Grand Prix Circuit next weekend on 26-27 April 2025.

The 20-year-old racer will make her debut in the GB3 Championship at the season opener after a thorough training program with her team, Elite Motorsport. The GB3 Championship is the UK’s premier single-seater category. Bustamante will feature as one of 30 racers on the grid at Silverstone – the first time since her championship-winning karting days that she has competed a full season as part of a mixed (male and female drivers) grid.

Bianca said, “We have left no stone unturned in our preparations, with plenty of testing undertaken with my team in both the old GB3 car and the new. I am really enjoying the higher downforce and am increasing my confidence every time I go out on the track. I have been doing plenty of physical training as well – focusing on strength and endurance which will really help me to take things to a new level. It has been gruelling, but it has been so important to make sure I am ready for this big move up from Formula 4 as I work towards my goal of stepping up to Formula 3 in the future. As we look ahead to April 26 and 27, I could not be more excited or thankful to Elite Motorsport for the trust and confidence they have shown in me and to all of my sponsors for backing me. I have been pushing myself very hard to make sure I am as ready as I can be for what is my most important season to date, and I will continue to do so all season long to ensure I can bring home the results for all those who have placed their faith in me. It all starts at Silverstone!”

The transition to GB3 is expected to be Bustamante’s toughest challenge yet. It is a crucial step towards her goal of moving up to Formula 3 and will require her to quickly adapt to a new series and a faster, more powerful car: the Tatuus MSV GB3-025. This new car, debuting in the championship in 2025, has a redesigned chassis, better aerodynamics for 35% more downforce, and a stronger engine with a 30bhp boost. It introduces DRS (drag reduction system), has wider tyres for improved grip, and meets top safety standards.

To prepare for the challenge, Bustamante has been following a thorough training program. This includes intense physical training at the 321 Perform facility in Annecy, France, along with several test sessions with Elite Motorsport at various circuits on the 2025 GB3 calendar, like Silverstone and Spa Francorchamps.

The 2025 GB3 Championship’s opening event, featuring three races, will take place at Silverstone on 26 and 27 April , alongside the British GT Championship. Fans can watch the action on the official GB3 website, via live stream, and on Sky Sports F1. For more information, visit www.gb-3.net.
