Both model uses the same 895 cc engine which produces 77 kW (105 hp) at 8,750 rpm, and 92 Nm of torque at 6,500 rpm. Another key aspect for both models is the use of a steel bridge frame that integrates the engine as a load-bearing element and a fuel tank that is now back in its classic position in front of the rider.

Front wheel control is taken care of by an upside-down telescopic fork, while the rear wheel is guided by a double-sided swinging arm with central suspension strut for both models. The front spring travel is 135 mm for the BMW F 900 R and 170 mm for the BMW F 900 XR, while the rear is 142 mm for the BMW F 900 R and 172 mm for the BMW F 900 XR.

Both bike feature “Connectivity” as a standard equipment with a multifunctional instrument cluster and a large 6.5-inch full-colour TFT screen. With the standard BMW Motorrad Multi-Controller on the left handlebar, riders can access vehicle and connectivity functions swiftly and conveniently. The BMW Motorrad Connectivity is also a unique feature in the mid-range, offering the ability to conveniently talk on the phone, listen to music or navigate while riding.

…yet different at the same time!

The 2020 BMW F 900 R and BMW F 900 XR is a roadster and adventure bike respectively on it’s own. Bigger fuel tank on the XR means rider will visit lesser to the petrol station when your out to adventure long roads.
