AkzoNobel introduces new powder coating, Interpon A3000 for motorcycles

AkzoNobel’s Powder Coatings has launched Interpon A3000, its first single-layer powder coating for motorcycles. The product aims to accelerate efficiency gains without compromising on performance or aesthetics, particularly in the Indian market, home to over 200 million two-wheeled vehicles.

The product will be available globally and will help motorcycle manufacturers and their suppliers combine sustainability, durability, and style for their modern designs. The single-layer system reduces customers’ costs and contributes to lowering their carbon footprint.

Available in various colors and metallic effects, Interpon A3000 is designed to protect and enhance the body parts, wheels, and trim of any two-wheeled vehicle, in line with performance levels specified by OEMs. It also caters to the “naked” design trend, where the engine and other parts of the motorbike are visible.

The product range is durable, preventing corrosion, combating interference from fuel, oil, and other chemicals, and offering high resistance to chipping from stones and pebbles. A low energy version will also be available, enabling the powder to cure at a lower temperature and reduce energy consumption, helping AkzoNobel achieve its goal of halving carbon emissions across the value chain by 2030.
