Volvo Buses Malaysia launches B11R Euro 5 Emission Standard Bus Chassis

Volvo Buses Malaysia has introduced the new B11R bus chassis, designed to meet the Euro 5 emission standard, which is a global standard for environmental quality. This new chassis offers great fuel efficiency, durability, and safety. It features an advanced exhaust control system that cuts emissions by up to 80% compared to the older Euro 3 and Euro 4 standards.

The Volvo B11R bus chassis integrates advanced technology for optimized engine performance and reduced maintenance costs. Launched in Malaysia in early 2025, Volvo Buses Malaysia is well-equipped to meet market demand with strong production and delivery capabilities.

The transition to Euro 5 emission standards is significant for both Volvo Buses and local operators.

Additionally, the chassis is packed with safety features, including the Driver Safety System (DSS), which makes driving easier. The DSS package encompasses active safety systems such as Collision Warning with Emergency Brake, Forward Collision Warning, Cruise Control, Lane Change Support, and Lane Keeping Support, enhancing safety beyond legal requirements.

Volvo is a leader in road safety, known for creating important safety features like the three-point seat belt and lane change support. In Malaysia, Volvo is working to improve safety for everyone on the road, including drivers, passengers, and those near buses. Worldwide, Volvo prioritizes safety, which also leads to better efficiency and profitability.

During the launch, Marcus Mak, General Manager, Volvo Buses Malaysia who said, “The B11R is poised to be a game changer. With its state-of-the-art technology, those opting for this chassis will very quickly find out that they have an asset on their hands that will enhance their bottom line. Passengers today recognise Volvo for safety, and they will surely be wanting to be travelling in the safest way possible.” Mak also pointed out that the manufacture of a high-quality bus requires technical partners that are on top of their game. “Without competent and reliable coach builders, we would not be able to deliver on our promise to the market.”

Volvo Buses Malaysia sees the launch of the Euro 5 bus chassis as an important move to improve public transport and support sustainable development in the industry.
