
Viu Malaysia has recently launched the latest series, Journal Sarahaeyo, bringing the world of K-pop fandom and love. The first episode of the rom com is officially released on 19 May 2023, with a new episode released every Friday thereafter.


The series follows the story of Sara, a university student who is an enthusiastic fan of K-dramas and K-pop. She has just started her final year and keeps a journal where she writes about her hopes and dreams of travelling to Korea and finding her “Oppa”. When she is tasked with organising her university trip to Korea, Sara sees it as an opportunity to pursue her dream. However, the journey is not without its difficulties as she faces people undermining her and being publicly humiliated by an anonymous Twitter account. Despite the challenges, she works hard to achieve her dreams with the support of her brother, Saif, and her friends, Raf and Layla.
Sara is portrayed by Arena Wan, a rising star and talented actress who won the Dewi Remaja Favourite title in 2018/2019. She gained recognition for her role in popular series SMK Season Two, which led to an opportunity to star in a drama on Astro Prima. With her remarkable performances, she has starred in several notable Malay dramas, including Jujurlah Nikahi Aku (2020), Hati Yang Dikhianati (2021), and the Viu Original She Was Pretty (2022).
Bringing Raf’s character to life is Aniq Suhair, who began his journey in showbiz after winning Hero Favourite in Hero Remaja 2019/2020. Since then, he has acted in various dramas, including Kebaya Kasut Kanvas and Lelaki Lingkungan Cinta. Aniq’s latest role in Astro Ria’s drama series, Kampung People Three, showcases his versatility as an actor.
Meanwhile, Alvin Chong is taking on the role of Han. Alvin started his career in the local entertainment industry as an actor. His notable works in Malay drama series include Suri Hati Mr. Pilot (2016), Hantu Judi (2018), Takdir Yang Tertulis (2021), and award-winning Viu Original She Was Pretty (2022). Alvin’s exceptional portrayal of Ashraff in the award-winning series has earned him Best Supporting Male Performance Actor at the recent 27th Asian Television Awards.
Completing the cast of Journal Sarahaeyo is Alisya Rashid, who plays Layla. Alisya is a popular lifestyle influencer known for sharing her daily life and experiences on YouTube and Instagram. Prior to her career as an influencer, Alisya Rashid was a child voice actress for the Boboiboy series. With a focus on fashion, beauty, and lifestyle content, Alisya has gained a significant following and collaborated with top brands in Malaysia. Her relatable personality and unique style continue to inspire fans globally, making her one of the most influential voices of her generation.
Journal Sarahaeyo, presented by Vivo V27, is a new comedy series that not only boasts an interesting storyline and talented cast, but also features an exceptional original soundtrack entitled In My Head, produced by Malaysia’s number one pop music production and songwriting group and performed by Arena Wan.
