Vietjet proposes Vietnam Halal Connect for Muslim-Friendly Travel

Vietjet has proposed Vietnam Halal Connect, an initiative aimed at enhancing collaboration among airlines, airports, tourism businesses, Halal certification bodies, and technology partners to support Muslim travel to Vietnam. This initiative is particularly important for Malaysia, a key source market where Muslims are the majority.

Unveiled at the Vietnam Halal Tourism Conference 2026, the proposal focuses on improving Vietnam’s appeal to Muslim travellers through cooperation in the tourism sector. Vietnam Halal Connect is designed to connect stakeholders, enhancing coordination and the travel experience for Muslim visitors. Vietjet plans to offer more Halal meal options, digital solutions, and partnerships to better serve Muslim travellers while supporting Halal standards.

Mr. Ha Nang Viet, Vietjet’s Commercial Director

“We see strong opportunities to strengthen Vietnam’s appeal among Muslim travellers through better connectivity and services that respond to their evolving travel needs,” said Mr. Ha Nang Viet, Vietjet’s Commercial Director. “Through Vietnam Halal Connect, we hope to encourage closer cooperation across the travel value chain so that Muslim travellers can explore Vietnam with greater confidence and convenience.”

Malaysia is a key market for Vietjet, with daily flights from Kuala Lumpur to Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, catering to rising travel demand between these ASEAN economies. The airline’s initiative to enhance Halal dining and Muslim-friendly services aligns with Malaysia’s growing travel preferences. Vietnam’s strategic location and diverse tourism offerings were emphasized by officials at a recent conference. In 2025, Vietnam welcomed over 21 million international visitors, including about 600,000 Muslim travellers.

Vietjet is dedicated to improving connectivity and partnering with the industry to create a seamless and enjoyable experience for Malaysian travellers exploring Vietnam’s culture and attractions.
