
U Mobile has officially inked a RM4.3 billion syndicated financing, with CIMB Investment Bank Berhad acting as the Sole Loan Coordinator, Joint Mandated Lead Arranger and CIMB Bank Berhad and CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad as the financiers. The financing was arranged together with Maybank Islamic Bank Berhad, AmBank Islamic Bank Berhad, and UOB Malaysia, which served as Joint Mandated Lead Arrangers and financiers. This syndicated financing is one of the largest syndicated ringgit financing raised by an unlisted company in Malaysia.
The financing will support U Mobile’s capital expenditure (CAPEX) and working capital for its 5G network deployment, targeting 80% coverage of populated areas (CoPA) by mid-2026, while accelerating the nationwide expansion of U Mobile’s ULTRA5G experience to advance Malaysia’s digital economy.

Wong highlighted that U Mobile is on track to meet its network rollout targets and is confident of achieving 80% of CoPA by the second half of next year. He believes the enterprise-grade network with 5G-Advanced capabilities will benefit public and private sectors. U Mobile is committed to providing the widest and deepest 5G network experience in Malaysia, both outdoors and indoors.
