U Mobile and Telenor Linx unveiled SIM-based Phone Number Verification on ULTRA5G network

U Mobile has introduced a SIM-based Phone Number Verification (PNV) service through its ULTRA5G network, in collaboration with Telenor Linx. This service offers businesses and developers an easier and safer way to confirm users’ identities. With U Mobile’s SIM-based PNV, digital platforms and service providers can check users without needing them to enter an SMS One-Time Password (OTP) manually. This makes registration, login, and identity verification easier, while also enhancing fraud prevention and building digital trust.

Additionally, U Mobile’s partnership with Telenor Linx allows developers using Google Firebase to access this PNV service, expanding its availability to more developers.

How Lih Ren, Chief Business Officer of U Mobile, said: “As more of our everyday activities move online, authentication needs to be secure without making the experience unnecessarily complicated for users. Through our partnership with Telenor Linx, we are extending the capabilities of U Mobile’s network beyond connectivity to help businesses provide a simpler way for customers to verify their mobile numbers. Instead of having to wait for and manually enter an SMS OTP, supported services can authenticate users directly through our network, making the experience faster and more seamless while helping businesses strengthen digital trust.”

Stig Atle Waagbø, Chief Executive Officer of Telenor Linx, said: “The value of SIM-based verification grows with every operator that joins the ecosystem. Through our partnership with U Mobile, we are extending trusted network capabilities to the applications and services people use every day, making verification more seamless and secure. This collaboration demonstrates how mobile operators can create new value from their networks while strengthening digital trust.”

Micah Baker, Senior Product Manager, Firebase, said: “App developers care about the outcomes enabled by technology, not the technology itself. By making U Mobile’s network verification capabilities available through Firebase, we’re making it easier for developers to verify phone numbers, enabling faster sign-up and sign-in experiences for users while strengthening trust and reliability.”

The partnership boosts the reach of U Mobile’s SIM-based Phone Number Verification (PNV) service, making it available for more digital applications and user verification. This helps U Mobile meet the increasing demand for SIM-based authentication from businesses, developers, and digital service providers.

Additionally, this service enhances fraud prevention and makes the verification process easier for customers. The collaboration also strengthens U Mobile’s position in the digital identity space, creating new chances to offer reliable digital services.
