Tourism Malaysia and Berjaya Hospitality Group inks MoU to expand global reach for Visit Malaysia 2026–2027 campaign

Tourism Malaysia has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Berjaya Hospitality Group (BHG) to support the Visit Malaysia 2026–2027 campaign. This partnership aims to enhance Malaysia’s tourism presence globally and position it as a top holiday destination.

The signing event took place at Berjaya Times Square Hotel in Kuala Lumpur, with key representatives from both organizations present. The MoU aims to boost Malaysia’s visibility by utilizing BHG’s international hospitality connections. The agreement was signed by Mr. Mohd Amirul Rizal Abdul Rahim from Tourism Malaysia and Mr. Pravir Mishra from Berjaya Hospitality Group. The event also included the launch of the Stay Berjaya, Discover More of Malaysia campaign, followed by a networking session.

Under this agreement, Tourism Malaysia and BHG will work together on various marketing initiatives to help the tourism sector. They will focus on incorporating BHG’s support into Tourism Malaysia’s international sales missions and hosting trips for media and key partners to promote local attractions.

BHG operates 10 hotels and resorts in Malaysia, offering a range of city, island, and highland experiences. They will help promote the Visit Malaysia 2026–2027 campaign not only in Malaysia but also in countries like the United Kingdom, the Philippines, Japan, Sri Lanka, Seychelles, Vietnam, and Iceland. Both parties will create targeted marketing campaigns and exclusive offers, while Tourism Malaysia will enhance BHG’s online presence through social media and influencer partnerships.

Mr. Mohd Amirul Rizal Abdul Rahim, Director General of Tourism Malaysia said, “This strategic partnership is a crucial step in ensuring Malaysia remains a top-of-mind destination for global travellers. By leveraging Berjaya Hospitality Group’s network, we can elevate overall visitor engagement, encourage greater tourism spending, and drive sustainable growth across our local tourism sector.”

Highlighting the importance of teamwork between public and private sectors, Mr. Syed Ali Shahul Hameed, Group CEO of Berjaya Property Berhad, said, “As part of the Berjaya Group, BHG is well positioned to connect Malaysia with international travellers through our hospitality network and destination portfolio. We are dedicated to using our platforms, properties, and partnerships to showcase Malaysia’s diversity and create real opportunities for more visitors to explore and enjoy the country.”

To support the goals of Visit Malaysia 2026–2027 and celebrate this partnership, BHG has launched the Stay Berjaya, Discover More of Malaysia campaign, which offers a special discount of up to 70% on room rates. To take advantage of this offer, guests must stay a minimum of two nights at selected city hotels and three nights at participating resorts. Bookings can be made until 31 December 2026 for stays until 30 June 2027 via berjayahotel.com. Guests will also receive a set of seven destination postcards at check-out, each with a unique promo code for future stays until 31 December 2027.

Through initiatives like this, Tourism Malaysia aims to ensure that the rich experiences in the country, from cities to islands and highlands, attract an even bigger international audience with the help of its strategic partners.
