
Malaysia is prioritizing healthcare reform as SEACare 2025, begins at MITEC, supported by RM45.3 billion from Budget 2025. This initiative aims to improve infrastructure, foster innovation, and ensure equitable access, establishing SEACare as a key driver for regional healthcare progress.
Officiated by YB Datuk Seri Dr. Haji Dzulkefly Ahmad, Minister of Health Malaysia, the event taking place from 23 to 25 April features 130 exhibiting brands from 13 countries across 250 booths at MITEC. The theme, “Strategic Partnerships in Healthcare Innovation: Fostering Collaboration for Digital Transformation,” emphasizes stakeholder collaboration in digital healthcare. Supported by agencies such as MATRADE, MDA, and SIRIM Berhad, the exhibition includes the International Sourcing Programme (INSP) and Hosted Buyers Program to connect Malaysian businesses with global networks.

Prioritising the Exchange of Knowledge
SEACare 2025 integrates a strong social responsibility component by collaborating with the National Cancer Society Malaysia (NCSM). In addition to fundraising for NCSM’s cancer awareness initiatives, this year’s event will host the inaugural SEA Healthcare and Pharma Conference 2025, co-organised by NCSM and Five Pillars Venture Capital, endorsed by the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) and Malaysian Pharmacists Society (MPS), offering up to 20 Continuing Professional Development (CPD) points and a certificate of attendance.

SEACare 2025 will feature a three-day Industry Spotlight series led by local agencies, including the NPRA and Amazon Web Services, focusing on regulatory pathways, pharmaceutical safety, staffing, and health technology assessment in Malaysia. The event’s opening ceremony announced the launch of the Zafar VC Fund by 5 Pillar Ventures, which will support early-stage healthtech and medtech startups in ASEAN through the Medexel Accelerator Program, offering up to USD $250,000 in funding and tailored growth support.
The opening ceremony also witnessed the signing of Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs):
- Cancer Symposium Series 2025 between Prince Court Medical Centre, Alliance Bank and NCSM;
- An MoU between Qube and the Malaysian Dental Association (MDA) for a strategic alliance introducing a new component for SEACare 2026 by integrating MDA’s Scientific Convention and Trade Exhibition (SCATE) convention.
