Schneider Electric has been recognized as the World’s Most Sustainable Corporation 2025 by Corporate Knights and is the only company to have ranked first in the Global 100 twice. In 2021, Schneider Electric led the annual list of the most sustainable publicly listed companies with revenues exceeding $1 billion. This achievement highlights Schneider’s long-term dedication to strong environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices.
“For many years now, sustainability has been at the heart of what Schneider Electric does. For an IMPACT company it’s more than just a corporate goal, it’s the driving force that shapes our business decisions and inspires our employees,” said Olivier Blum, Schneider Electric’s Chief Executive Officer. “This second title as the World’s Most Sustainable Corporation from Corporate Knights, alongside other key ESG recognitions, is testimony to the valuable, long-term positive impact we have.”
This year, Schneider Electric’s top position shows its leadership in sustainable practices, including gender diversity among its executives and board directors, along with its innovative solutions for energy efficiency, electrification, and decarbonization. The company received high scores for reducing energy use and carbon emissions while growing its business, and it invests strongly in sustainable research and development. Corporate Knights also highlighted the connection between executive pay incentives and Schneider Electric’s sustainability performance and ESG ratings.
“Schneider Electric’s position at the top of the Global 100 index is remarkable. No other company has accomplished this twice,” said Toby Heaps, Corporate Knights’ CEO. “This success stems from Schneider’s broad impact that goes beyond its own sustainability efforts. Schneider provides the technology to enhance energy efficiency, support decarbonization and help other companies in their sustainable transitions.”
Compiled by the Canadian company Corporate Knights, the annual Global 100 index ranks companies based on public information about their resources, employees, suppliers, sustainable revenue, and investments. The ranking uses specific performance indicators to compare companies within the same industry. Schneider Electric has been featured in the Global 100 for 14 years and has reached the top 10 seven times, which is a record for its industry.
Winning this title in both 2021 and 2025 marks the start and end of the five-year Schneider Sustainability Impact program. This program tracks the company’s progress on various important environmental, social, and governance (ESG) goals set for 2025, ensuring they stay focused on their global and local objectives.
