Samsung Malaysia and Maybank has officially signed a Collaboration Agreement to introduce the country’s first Samsung Wallet QR Payment experience.
This collaboration brings together Samsung’s mobile technology and Maybank’s digital banking services to provide a quicker and easier way for Samsung Galaxy users to make everyday payments. Starting from 21 July 2026, eligible Samsung Galaxy users will be able to use Maybank’s MAE Scan & Pay feature directly within Samsung Wallet with its latest update.
As Malaysia moves towards a cashless economy, this partnership highlights both companies’ dedication to improving digital payments and making everyday transactions easier, safer, and more convenient for millions of customers in both city and rural areas.
“At Samsung, our vision for Samsung Wallet has always been to go beyond a digital wallet and become an intelligent everyday companion that simplifies life for our users,” said Charles Kim, President of Samsung Malaysia Electronics. “Our partnership with Maybank represents a significant step forward in expanding the Samsung Wallet ecosystem in Malaysia. By bringing QR payments directly into Samsung Wallet, we’re making everyday transactions even more effortless, allowing users to simply swipe, scan and pay within seconds.”
Mohd Amri Mohd Sofian, Head, Community Financial Services Malaysia of Maybank said that guided by its ROAR30 ambitions, the Bank continues to focus on delivering intuitive and exceptional digital experiences, with an emphasis on creating frictionless payment journeys that integrate naturally into customers’ everyday lives and transactions. “By integrating Maybank’s MAE Scan & Pay functionality directly into Samsung Wallet, we are bringing greater convenience to customers while maintaining the security and reliability they expect from Maybank. This collaboration reflects our commitment to advancing digital innovation through strategic ecosystem partnerships that make everyday banking simpler, faster and more accessible,” he added.
Through Samsung Wallet, users can easily make QR payments with a quick swipe. They can access Maybank’s Scan & Pay via the MAE App to perform secure QR transactions, not just in Malaysia, but also in Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, and Cambodia. This seamless integration makes payments quicker when buying meals, groceries, coffee, or other daily items.
Payments will be faster and more rewarding, as users can earn Samsung Reward points with each transaction. These points can be used to buy Samsung products or claim vouchers through the Samsung members app.
This partnership also enhances Samsung Wallet as a complete digital platform, adding to its existing features and providing more value to Samsung Galaxy users. The Samsung Wallet QR Payment feature is a first for Samsung in Malaysia and marks another step in the company’s investment to improve Samsung Wallet. By merging Samsung’s mobile services with Maybank’s reliable digital banking, both companies strive to offer smarter, faster, and more convenient payment options.
The rollout of Samsung Wallet QR Payment will start on 21 July 2026 and will be available on eligible Samsung Galaxy smartphones with the latest Samsung Wallet and software update.
As part of the partnership, customers can enjoy exclusive rewards worth a total of up to RM500,000 through a limited-time promotional campaign running from 28th July to 30th October 2026. Eligible customers will receive RM5 upon successfully connecting and activating QR Payment on Samsung Wallet, and can further enjoy up to RM15 in cashback or vouchers when they spend.
