Samsung introduces One UI 8.5 beta program; promotes Next-Level Ease of Use

Samsung has launched the One UI 8.5 beta program, which focuses on simplifying user interactions with enhanced features for seamless actions, device management, and improved security.

One UI 8.5: What’s New for Content Creation?

One UI 8.5 makes it easier to create and share content from start to finish. Users can keep making new images without stopping, thanks to the updated Photo Assist. They can edit photos continuously without saving each version. When they’re done, they can review all their work in the edit history and choose their favorites.

Sharing is also easier with improvements to Quick Share, which now recognizes people in photos and suggests sending them directly to those contacts.

How Does One UI 8.5 Improve Device Connectivity?

New cross-device features simplify managing devices, whether for file sharing, network access, or communication with nearby devices. Audio Broadcast allows easy interaction with LE Audio-supported devices using Auracast. Users can now also broadcast their voice through their Galaxy phone’s microphone, which is great for groups during tours or events.

Storage Share enhances the Galaxy ecosystem by displaying files from other Galaxy devices, like tablets and PCs, in the My Files app. It also lets users access their phone’s files from other Samsung devices, including TVs.

How Is My Galaxy Device Staying Protected?

One UI 8.5 improves device security and gives users better control over their settings. Theft Protection secures phones and data if lost or stolen. Additionally, Failed Authentication Lock locks the screen after too many failed fingerprint, PIN, or password attempts. Identity check also protects more settings than before, adding extra security.

Availability

The One UI 8.5 beta program will start for Galaxy S25 users in select markets like Germany, India, Korea, Poland, the UK, and the U.S. on December 8, 2025. Users can join the beta program through the Samsung Members app.
