Samsung has announced that 34 models from its 2026 TV and soundbar lineup have received Product Carbon Reduction and Product Carbon Footprint certifications from TÜV Rheinland. This achievement reflects Samsung’s efforts to reduce carbon emissions across its premium products.
“As a global leader in premium displays and audio, Samsung sees sustainability as an essential part of innovation,” said Taeyong Son, Executive Vice President of Visual Display (VD) Business at Samsung Electronics. “We remain committed to reducing carbon emissions across our products, so consumers do not have to choose between cutting-edge technology and a more responsible product experience.”
Samsung has received certification for reducing carbon emissions for 14 of its high-end display and audio products, including its 2026 OLED TVs, The Frame Pro, and the top-of-the-line HW-Q990H soundbar. Additionally, 20 other products, like Micro RGB and Mini LED TVs, have been certified for their carbon footprint.
The certification for Product Carbon Footprint is given by TÜV Rheinland to products that meet global standards for greenhouse gas emissions throughout their entire life cycle, from manufacturing to disposal.
In contrast, the Product Carbon Reduction certification is for products that have already received the initial footprint certification and show a real decrease in carbon emissions compared to older models. The HW-Q990H is a notable example, as it has both certifications, highlighting Samsung’s commitment to sustainability beyond just TVs.
In 2021, Samsung’s Neo QLED became the first TV with 4K resolution or higher to get the Product Carbon Reduction certification. Since then, Samsung has expanded its range of certified products, which now includes QLED, OLED, Lifestyle TVs, monitors, and signage.
These actions demonstrate Samsung’s leadership in high-quality display and audio products, where it has been the top global TV brand for 20 years and has held the title of the leading global soundbar brand for 12 years.
