Royal Enfield has officially launched the 2024 Royal Enfield Himalayan in Malaysia during Art Of Speed 2024 on 27 June. Royal Enfield Himalayan is a versatile motorcycle catering to adventure enthusiasts. The motorcycle is powered by the Sherpa 450 liquid-cooled engine and features integrated tech-features to enhance the adventure touring experience.
Mr. Goh Kian Sin, Managing Director of Didi Group, expressed excitement about introducing the new Himalayan to Malaysian riders, highlighting its upgraded features and strong horsepower. The launch event also featured the debut of Custom World showcasing custom bikes from the UK. Anuj Dua, Business Head for Asia Pacific, emphasized Royal Enfield’s commitment to providing unmatched riding pleasure and versatility.
The new Himalayan boasts more power and torque, with a 452cc Sherpa engine delivering excellent low-rpm performance. The Sherpa engine can deliver a maximum power of 40.02PS at 8000 rpm, and a maximum torque of 40Nm at 5500 rpm as it makes 90% of its torque from 3,000rpm upwards giving a tractable power delivery without needing to be revved to the red line to go anywhere. The motorcycle features higher ground clearance, long travel suspension, and a stiffer frame for improved performance and stability. The new Showa inverted fork ensures smooth handling across various terrains.
The Himalayan retains its proven 21” front / 17” rear wheel combination with newly developed aluminum alloy rims and bespoke tires for superior grip. The new chassis and compact engine allow for improved rider ergonomics, with a narrower frame and tank enhancing control and comfort. The TripperDash navigation system provides full map navigation with audio guidance, while ride modes and mobile connectivity offer added convenience for riders.
The new Himalayan also offers a range of Genuine Motorcycle Accessories to enhance the riding experience. Adventure accessories focus on long-distance capabilities, while Rally accessories accentuate off-road performance. From Box Aluminum Luggage to Rally Handguards, riders can customize their Himalayan for their specific needs.
