RMHC Malaysia ushers in the New Year with RM100,000 donated to 50 orphanages across the nation

RMHC Malaysia recently donated RM100,000 to 50 orphanages as part of its ongoing commitment to support the welfare of children in the country. The mock cheque presentation ceremony was held at the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development (KPWKM) office. The presentation ceremony was graced by Datuk Seri Rina Mohd Harun, Minister of Women, Family, and Community Development.

“We believe that every child deserves a happy childhood, and they have the right to grow up strong and healthy. RMHC Malaysia stands committed to improve the health and well-being of Malaysian children and we aim to make a positive impact to a child’s life by giving every child what they truly deserve,” said Azmir Jaafar, President of RMHC Malaysia.

Azmir, who is also the Managing Director and Operating Partner of McDonald’s Malaysia, noted that the donation was made possible thanks to the generous contributions from McDonald’s customers who made donations via the RMHC Malaysia coin box and Self-Ordering Kiosks in over 300 McDonald’s restaurants nationwide, as well as from business partners, McDonald’s employees and franchisees.

“I am pleased to see an organisation like RMHC Malaysia come forward and give back to the community especially during these trying times. On behalf of my ministry, we are grateful for the support from RMHC Malaysia and the generosity of all Malaysians because this gesture truly epitomises the country’s spirit of #kitajagakita,” said Datuk Seri Rina.
