PEUGEOT has recently launched the all-new PEUGEOT 408 for the Malaysia market. The vehicle is a radical departure from its predecessor, winning the 2023 Red Dot Design of the Year Award. The PEUGEOT 408’s design is based on ‘The Language of Attraction’, a concept that combines the brand’s core values of Allure, Emotion, and Excellence.

The all-new PEUGEOT 408 features a captivating fastback silhouette, a bold feline grace, and a new emblem, the PEUGEOT Signature Light. The GT trim also includes Matrix LED lighting technology for optimal visibility in the dark. The PEUGEOT 408’s sublime silhouette is enhanced by a 3D three-claw, full LED rear with an inverted cut-out of the rear bumper.

Based on the EMP2 (Efficient Modular Platform), the PEUGEOT 408 measures 4,687 millimetres long, 1,859 millimetres wide, and 1,487 millimetres in overall height. Its wheelbase measures 2,787 millimetres and has a raised ground clearance of 189 millimetres.
The PEUGEOT 408 is powered by a 1.6-litre turbocharged PureTech engine, which offers 218 hp (160kW) at 5,750 rpm and 300 Nm at 2,000 rpm. The 408 has a dynamic fastback profile with sharp facets and design elements define its silhouette, particularly at the rear, end of the roof, and base of the wings.
The all-new PEUGEOT 408 comes in four evocative colour options, including Perla Nera Black, Okenite White, Artense Grey, and Obsession Blue, and is available in three trim levels: Allure, Premium, and GT.
The Allure and Premium models have 18-inch Granite Grey and Black wheels, with the GT variant featuring geometric 20-inch Monolithe Black wheels. These models come with exclusive features like matrix LED headlights, 3D ‘Claw Effect’ LED rear lights, 3D Quartz Digital Metre Cluster, configurable touch i-Toggles, FOCAL Premium Hi-Fi System, 360° camera, AGR* Certified seats with driver memory, and multispot massage function for passengers and drivers.

The PEUGEOT 408 comes with PEUGEOT i-Cockpit dashboard. The dashboard’s design is based on a “High Vents” architecture, positioning primary ventilation outlets at optimal levels to improve thermal comfort. A 10-inch digital instrument cluster with 3D technology and display personalization options for the GT variant is located above the compact steering wheel. The centre console features a minimalist approach with primary gear controls set through a one-touch toggle switch for Reverse (R), Neutral (N), and Drive (D), with Parking (P) positioned separately as a button. The Driving Mode selector allows drivers to experience the dynamic driving qualities and road-holding prowess of the PEUGEOT 408.
The infotainment system, PEUGEOT i-Connect, provides effortless everyday use, offering a seamless transition from smartphone or tablet experience to the car. It features a plethora of customizable preferences for up to eight different driver profiles, with the home button, swipe through the menu interface, and three-finger tap to launch the application wall. The mirroring function enables connections of up to two phones via Bluetooth or USB-C sockets, with on-board documentation and tutorials for new users.
The PEUGEOT 408 offers a wide range of equipment designed for the pleasure of travelling and mobility. The driver’s seat is awarded by the AGR association for ergonomics and back health experts, providing a range of adjustments and comfort for everyday use. Both seats offer an 8-pocket air massage system with 5 selectable programs and built-in heating for ultimate comfort on long journeys. The centre console elegantly includes a wireless phone charging area, an armrest, two USB-C sockets, two large cup holders, and 33 litres of storage for miscellaneous items.
The PEUGEOT 408 also offers a two-part bench seat (60/40), which can be folded down immediately through two controls easily accessible from the sides of the boot. Rear boot access is easy with multiple ways to open the motorised tailgate, including hands-free access with a simple foot sweep under the bumper.
The PEUGEOT 408 prioritizes passenger well-being and clean air. It features a standard High Efficiency Filter that filters particles, mold, and bacteria, while the GT trim upgrades the Air Quality System (AQS) system for active protection. The GT variant of the PEUGEOT 408 is developed in partnership with French audio expert FOCAL, offering an exceptional FOCAL Premium Hi-Fi System with 10 speakers, ARKAMYS digital sound processing, 4 aluminium dome tweeters, and a new 12-channel 690W amplifier. The interior also features an ambient LED lighting function with 8 colors.
