NTT DATA recently hosted its regional flagship event, 2025 Ignite, bringing together business leaders, technologists, and policymakers to explore intelligent technologies and sustainability in Southeast Asia.

As Malaysia pursues its MADANI Economy and MyDIGITAL initiatives to become a hub for AI and innovation, 2025 Ignite served as a catalyst for enterprise transformation. The event’s theme, Connect | Innovate | Impact, focused on how AI can turn innovative ideas into meaningful change for businesses and society.

Henrick Choo, CEO of NTT DATA Malaysia, opens 2025 Ignite, calling on partners and clients to connect, innovate, and drive real impact through AI and the NTT DATA GenAI TechHub.

“2025 Ignite marked an evolution of our journey, from inspiring digital transformation to realizing business impact through AI,” said Henrick Choo, CEO of NTT DATA, Malaysia. “Through our GenAI TechHub, we’re helping enterprises co-create, experiment and scale AI use cases. Our goal is to help Malaysian enterprises accelerate client success and positively impact society through responsible innovation.

In his keynote address, Kazuhiro Gomi, President & CEO of NTT Research, Inc., shared insights on AI’s potential to transform industries through secure and sustainable innovation. Gomi noted that AI systems could consume up to 134 terawatt-hours annually by 2027, comparable to the energy usage of countries like the Netherlands or Sweden.

In Malaysia, data center energy consumption is projected to triple to 21% by 2027 from 7% in 2022, highlighting the need for efficient technologies like photonics-electronics convergence and renewable-powered AI systems.

The 2025 Ignite event showcased NTT DATA’s evolving Data & AI portfolio, emphasizing rapid GenAI application development and a commitment to AI skills and talent in Malaysia, aiming for leadership in responsible AI innovation.

Additionally, NTT DATA introduced the GenAI TechHub, a resource of reusable GenAI prototypes and components designed for scalable integration with platforms like Microsoft Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud.
