Nickelodeon’s Garfield brings a ‘Meriah Raya’ celebration at Pavilion Bukit Jalil

Pavilion Bukit Jalil is bringing a one-of-a-kind Raya festivities with the ‘Meriah Raya’ theme campaign, featuring Nickelodeon’s Garfield. The theme celebration will begin from now until 25 April 2023 where shoppers can meet and greet with Garfield while exploring he grand Hari Raya décor paired with entertaining performances and activities, festive shopping and scrumptious dining at over 400 stores with family and friends as well as exclusive limited-edition festive redemptions.

The launch of the ‘Meriah Raya’ Celebration was officiated by Encik Shahrin Mokhtar, Director of Package Development Division, Tourism Malaysia; Datuk Lee Whay Hoong, Director of Regal Path Sdn. Bhd; Dato’ Joyce Yap, CEO of Retail, KLPSB; Ms. Kung Suan Ai, Director of Marketing, KLPSB; Mr. Dennis Tan, Vice President, Brand and Retail Marketing, Paramount Consumer Products Asia; along with tenants, shoppers and 120 kids from homes and orphanages surrounding the Bukit Jalil community including Surau Mustaqim PPR Pinggiran Bukit Jalil, Sri Rakyat Apartment Bukit Jalil and PPR Bukit Jalil.

‘Pavilion Bukit Jalil this year presents a ‘Meriah Raya’ celebration that represents the liveliness and true Malaysian spirit of communities coming together in celebrations. With over 400 vibrant retail mix, Pavilion Bukit Jalil has fast gained popularity as a position in the region as a shopping destination in terms of F&B, urban leisure, and retail. Together with our partners and tenants, we wish everyone ‘Happy Ramadan and Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri’, says Dato’ Joyce Yap, Chief Executive Officer of Retail for Kuala Lumpur Pavilion Sdn. With Ramadan being a month of fasting and self-reflections, Pavilion Bukit Jalil highlighted the importance of giving back to the community with over 5,000 Milo packets donated to e-hailing and food delivery riders as well as orphanages and homes for senior citizens surrounding the Bukit Jalil community. 


During the campaign period, shoppers can explore Pavilion Bukit Jalil’s Centre Court while snapping pictures against the beautiful backdrops and meet Nickelodeon’s Garfield.

Besides being able to take pictures with 3 adorable sculptures and 6 different life-sized Garfield character installations up to 8-ft tall, shoppers can also have a meet-and-greet session with Garfield at 2pm and 6pm every Saturday and Sunday from the 26th of March onwards with minimum RM100 spent mall-wide.

Shoppers will be able to browse through unique festive offerings at the Meriah Raya Marketplace at Centre Court, Level 2 featuring booths such as duluKINI, GIFTOLOGY, The Body Shop, Krispy Kreme, Diamond Dotz, Yuniku, DUBAI by Food Republic and more to complete their festive shopping. 

For a limited time from now until 25 April 2023, shoppers will be able to spend and be rewarded with exclusive limited-edition gifts such as;

  • Garfield ‘Meriah Raya’ Green Packets – with a minimum spend of RM100 in a single receipt 
  • Garfield ‘Meriah Raya’ Tote Bags – with a minimum spend of RM300 in a single receipt
  • RM50 Shopping Vouchers – with a minimum spend of RM500 in a single receipt 

Additionally, redemption using receipts from selected home & living brands including LG Puricare, Hooga, Epitex, HOHM, duluKINI, Iconfraft, Nitori and More Design are entitled to an Extra Meriah Lucky Draw to win up to RM50 shopping vouchers.


For the campaign, there is a host of events including the Raya-Raya Bazaar from 13 – 17 April, 2023 at PIAZZA, Level 3 featuring over 50 booths offering festive cakes, tasty kuihs, home decor, Muslimah fashion and other apparel. 

Shoppers will also experience the creative mind of Tim Burton at ‘The World of Tim Burton Exhibition’, which makes its debut in Southeast Asia at Pavilion Bukit Jalil from 20 March – 31 July 2023. This extraordinary exhibition features some of the filmmaker’s finest works spanning five decades through 10 exciting thematic sections. 

For sports lovers, the Athos Giant 3×3 Competition will also be taking place from 31 March – 2 April at the Piazza which will be launched by YB Tuan Adam Adli, Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Malaysia. Shoppers can also visit the REX HOME EXPO from 22 – 24 April 2023 at PBJEC for home interior and exterior decorations, electrical appliances to soft furnishings.


For foodies and those planning to buka puasa, there are plenty of muslim-friendly options to choose from as there are over 150 F&B options available in the mall.

Those looking for the perfect appetisers for ‘buka puasa’ can check out Mahnaz Food, D’Laksa or even The Food Republic for small bites to satiate those hunger pangs.
