Michelin sets to become Exclusive Tire Supplier of WorldSBK starting in 2027

Michelin has announced that, starting in 2027, it will become the exclusive tire supplier for all categories of the FIM Superbike World Championship (WorldSBK). 

This commitment is a strategic move for the Michelin Group, enhancing its presence in motorcycle racing after successes in MotoGP and MotoE. It aims to use technological innovations from top categories in a championship that features bikes similar to production models.

The audience of this championship consists of passionate riders who own or ride super sport motorcycles, and we are committed to delivering high-quality racing entertainment, backed by Michelin’s renowned performance tires.”

As the new exclusive supplier for WorldSBK, Michelin is committed to making tires that are high-performing, durable, and accessible, while also focusing on sustainability by using renewable and recycled materials. The bikes in WorldSBK are based on production models, so the technology developed here can be quickly used for tires that all motorcycle fans can enjoy.

Michelin has had success in WorldSBK since the early 2000s, winning 12 titles in open competition. They are returning to this sport to utilize advanced technologies that improve performance and the riding experience, particularly in fast-growing areas like Southeast Asia.
