Maxis Q3 2025 shows positive performance with continued profit expansion

Maxis Berhad (Maxis) reported a solid performance for Q3 2025, with Profit After Tax (PAT) increasing by 12.6% YoY to RM412 million and EBITDA rising 5.2% YoY to RM1,102 million. This growth is attributed to higher service revenue and effective cost management.

Service revenue grew by 1.3% to RM2,241 million, driven by strong performance in Consumer Postpaid, Home, and Enterprise segments, despite the ongoing impact of changes to the device protection program.

Performance Highlights by Segment:

  • Consumer Mobile demonstrated stable performance, with subscribers growing by 3.2% YoY to 9.87 million. Postpaid led this growth with a 7.7% YoY increase in subscribers, fuelled by attractive value-packed plans and successful customer acquisition strategies. Prepaid segment remained resilient, supported by targeted offerings.
  • Consumer Home service revenue grew by 1.6% YoY to RM255 million, with subscriptions rising by 0.8% to 788,000. This growth was driven by value-led plans and bundled offerings, delivering exceptional value for households through seamless mobile and fibre connectivity, home and lifestyle devices, and solar energy solutions.
  • Enterprise Business recorded a strong 5.6% YoY increase in service revenue, reaching RM418 million. This was propelled by significant growth in fixed and solutions revenue, particularly in network (including data centre connectivity), cloud, and wholesale solutions. Maxis continues to build a robust order pipeline, leveraging its expertise in delivering end-to-end solutions for businesses of all sizes.

Maxis is enhancing digital transformation in Malaysia as a leading connectivity provider. The company has connected over 100,000 businesses with fiber and linked 39 data centres for better reliability. Maxis also launched Malaysia’s first Quantum Safe Networking solution, highlighting its focus on network resilience.

Goh Seow Eng, Chief Executive Officer of Maxis, commented, “Our focus on operational excellence is driving accelerated momentum, evidenced by healthy EBITDA growth and margin expansion. We’re leveraging AI and automation for cost efficiencies while our investment to maintain our network leadership continues, with quarterly capex of RM224 million. We affirm our full year guidance for low-single-digit growth in service revenue and mid-single-digit growth in EBITDA, supported by capex of around RM1 billion. In line with this performance, the Board has declared a dividend of 4 sen per share reflecting the company’s financial health and commitment to shareholder value.”
