MG Motor Malaysia has officially revealed an exclusive early bird package for its new B-Segment MGS5 EV SUV at the Malaysia Autoshow 2025, after the recently price announcement starting at RM115,000. The event featured Azrul Reza Aziz, CEO of MARii, and Ts. Nizmar Mohd Nazar, Deputy CEO of MARii, along with MG Motor Malaysia’s management team, Emory QiFeng and Lee Wen Hsiang.
Customers who book the MGS5 EV at the Malaysia Autoshow with a RM500 fee will get an exclusive early bird package. This offers significant savings for early supporters before the official price announcement. Additionally, early bird customers will receive a free 7kW Wallbox AC charger for easy home charging.
MGS5 EV Variants and Performance
The MGS5 EV is available in two variants – COM and LUX. The COM variant offers a 49kWh or 62kWh battery, providing up to 340km and 430km of WLTP range, respectively. The LUX variant comes standard with the 62kWh battery and also delivers up to 430km of range. All variants produce 170PS and 250Nm of torque with Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) and feature 7kW AC charging capabilities.
The LUX variant supports DC fast charging of up to 150kW, achieving a 10% to 80% charge in just 26 minutes. It enhances the driving experience with premium features like 18-inch alloy wheels, a panoramic sunroof, leather-fabric seats, a power-adjustable driver’s seat, a heated steering wheel, wireless charging, six premium speakers, a powered tailgate, and a 360-degree surround view camera.
Both variants feature LED headlamps with ‘Racing Flag’ themed DRLs and MG’s Arch Taillights. Highlights include Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 12.8-inch infotainment touchscreen with voice commands, a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster, and MG’s iSMART connectivity system. Boot space offers up to 1,441 litres.
The MGS5 EV is designed with an ultra-thin Horizontal Battery Layout for maximized interior space and a low centre of gravity. Its adaptive pressure control system enhances safety and battery longevity.

British Driving Dynamics at Malaysia Autoshow
Visitors to the Malaysia Autoshow can check out MG’s full range of cars, including the new MGS5 EV, MG5, MG4, MG HS, and the famous MG Cyberster—the world’s first all-electric soft-top roadster.
The MGS5 EV will be available for test drives only at the Autoshow, giving visitors a special chance to try it out before its official price is announced. Test drives for the MG5, MG4, and MG HS will also be available during the event.
Customers who book the MG Cyberster will get a 1-year Unlimited Charging package with JomCharge, an extra 7kW Wallbox AC Charger, and a special limited-edition MG Cyberster Diecast Model.
Visitors can enjoy a RM5,000 discount on the MG5 and MG HS or choose flexible payments for the MG4, starting at RM974 a month. All bookings made at the Malaysia Autoshow will come with a free gift.
