Lenovo reveals new modernise virtualization infrastructure for AI-Ready Future

Lenovo has announced new infrastructure solutions to help enterprises modernise their virtualized environments and prepare for AI. The portfolio includes the Lenovo ThinkAgile VX850 V4 for demanding in-memory workloads; Lenovo Premier Deploy for Infrastructure with three service levels for production readiness; and expanded Lenovo Express Solutions for simplified modernization across virtualization and hybrid cloud platforms.

“Organizations are focused on modernizing virtualized infrastructure to improve efficiency and resilience while maintaining flexibility in an increasingly complex IT landscape,” said Scott Patti, Vice President, Infrastructure Solutions Group, Lenovo. “Lenovo is helping customers modernize the infrastructure they rely on today with greater choice and control, while building an AI-ready foundation that can evolve as their requirements change.”

Purpose-Built Infrastructure for Virtualization

The Lenovo ThinkAgile VX850 V4 enhances Lenovo’s virtualization portfolio with infrastructure tailored for virtualized enterprise environments and demanding workloads. It supports both structured and unstructured data, providing a foundation for consolidating and modernizing critical workloads. As AI integrates into enterprise applications, the VX850 V4 aids in modernizing infrastructure for today’s business-critical applications while preparing for future needs.

Accelerating Modernization from Infrastructure Planning to Production-Ready Operations

Within the Lenovo Infrastructure Deployment Services portfolio, there are three deployment options: Standard Deploy, Premier Deploy, and Premier Deploy Plus. These options help customers choose the best deployment approach based on their project’s complexity, business importance, IT capabilities, and support needs after going live. All three provide a solid foundation and expert hardware installation. Premier Deploy and Premier Deploy Plus offer additional support for implementation and operations. Premier Deploy Plus also includes extended post-deployment help and a one-year infrastructure health check to early identify issues and guide next steps (excluding DE Storage Array).

Validated Modernization, Not DIY Integration

Lenovo is expanding its Lenovo Express Solutions within the Lenovo Top Choice Express program, which offers pre-validated infrastructure setups combining Lenovo technology with top software platforms. This aims to simplify deployment, reduce complexity, and speed up value delivery. The expanded options provide customers with clear paths to modernize using leading virtualization and hybrid cloud platforms, while ensuring flexibility and choice.

  • Microsoft Hyper-V Ready Solutions and Windows Server — Offers a validated Lenovo infrastructure foundation for customers modernizing virtualized environments.
  • Red Hat OpenShift Virtualization Solutions — Enables organizations to run and manage virtual machines alongside containerized applications on a unified platform, bridging traditional and modern workloads.
  • Microsoft Azure Local with Lenovo ThinkAgile MX V4 — Enables customers to run virtualized, AI, and cloud-native workloads across distributed and hybrid customer-controlled environments with consistent Azure management and operations.
  • Lenovo ThinkSystem with Nutanix Compute Cluster — Offers independent compute scaling, greater workload flexibility, and improved operational efficiency, Nutanix Cloud Platform simplifying virtualization management in a changing landscape.
  • SUSE Virtualization on Lenovo ThinkSystem V4 — Supports virtual machine and container workloads on a unified foundation.

These validated solutions combine Lenovo infrastructure with tested configurations from leading technology partners, reducing the integration burden on IT teams and providing a more predictable path from evaluation to deployment.

Resilient Infrastructure for What’s Next

Lenovo ThinkSystem Storage and Lenovo ThinkAgile HCI solutions help organizations improve their virtual environments. They support flexible infrastructure, built-in data protection, and scalable AI tasks. These solutions also include features that enhance recovery from ransomware attacks, ensuring that important data remains safe and can be restored.

As companies update their virtualization approaches, using open standards is key to keeping their options open and preventing reliance on any single vendor. XClarity Controller 3 and XClarity One use standard management practices to help customers easily manage, automate, and operate their infrastructure. This creates a robust base for reliable IT and smooth business operations.

“Modernization is an in-place initiative; it does not require starting over. Lenovo brings together best-of-breed virtualization, hybrid cloud, storage, infrastructure management, deployment services, and strategic technology partners into an open ecosystem that evolves with customers’ AI journey,” said Matt Eastwood, Senior Vice President, IDC’s Enterprise Infrastructure and Datacenter Group. “Together, these capabilities provide a flexible infrastructure foundation for traditional enterprise, cloud-native, and AI-native workloads, and emerging business use cases, allowing organizations to modernize incrementally while maintaining control over how and where workloads and data are deployed.”
