Nothing has launched the Phone (4b), designed as an accessible entry into Nothing’s product ecosystem. It builds on the success of the Phone (4a) series, featuring a unique design, strong performance, and reliability. Key features include the Glyph Interface, a powerful Snapdragon processor, the largest battery in a Nothing smartphone, a 50MP OIS main camera, a 120Hz Super AMOLED display, and Nothing OS with Essential AI tools.
Phone (4b) combines key design elements from the Phone (4a) series, featuring the new Glyph Bar and the unibody design of the Phone (4a) Pro. This results in a bold, recognizable design that balances simplicity, comfort, and durability.
Engineered for both form and function, Phone (4b) utilizes contrasting materials and textures to enhance visual precision. The soft polymer camera module has smooth 3D curved edges seamlessly integrated into an eco-polycarbonate unibody, finished with a durable three-layer coating. Withstanding up to 600 Newtons of bending force and rated IP64 for dust and water resistance, it’s built for everyday use. Available in Black, White, and Blue, each colorway reflects Nothing’s signature transparent architecture.
To celebrate RCB’s second IPL title, Nothing is launching the Phone (4b) RCB Edition in collaboration with Royal Challengers Bengaluru. Featuring a unique red colourway and bespoke RCB branding, it’s the inaugural official RCB smartphone. The Phone (4b) RCB Edition is available now at Nothing’s Flagship Store in Bengaluru.
The signature Glyph Bar returns in a cleaner form on Phone (4b), delivering a unique experience with 45 individually controlled mini-LEDs at up to 3,500 nits. It provides notifications, charging progress, and alerts with exceptional clarity, creating a more intuitive way to interact with your smartphone.
At the heart of Phone (4b) is the Snapdragon 6 Gen 4, Qualcomm’s 4nm mobile processor, delivering performance similar to the Phone (4a) with an AnTuTu score over 1 million. Its 4nm process ensures improved performance, power efficiency, and enhanced AI capabilities. Paired with Qualcomm’s 6th Generation AI Engine, it accelerates on-device AI for photography, voice recognition, and Essential AI tools, enabling quicker, more responsive experiences without cloud reliance.
Phone (4b) comes with the largest battery in a Nothing smartphone, featuring a 5200 mAh capacity. It offers up to 18 hours of mixed use—an hour more than Phone (4a)—including 22 hours of YouTube and 26 hours of Instagram. Its battery uses Safe Cell Technology, maintains 90% capacity after 1,200 charge cycles, and supports 33W fast charging, reaching 50% in under 30 minutes and fully charging in just over an hour.
Phone (4b) features a 4,400mm² vapour chamber designed for its internal layout, offering thermal performance similar to Phone (4a). It keeps the device up to 2°C cooler during demanding tasks, minimizing thermal throttling for gaming and 4K video recording. With Snapdragon 6 Gen 4, Phone (4b) supports up to 90 FPS in BGMI and CODM, and 120 FPS in games like Subway Surfers and League of Legends: Wild Rift.
Building on the great camera experience of the Phone (4a) series, the Phone (4b) features a 50MP main camera with optical image stabilization (OIS) that offers clear detail and natural colors. With both OIS and electronic image stabilization (EIS), along with a 360° ambient light sensor and a 119° ultrawide camera, it captures sharper photos and smoother videos while ensuring proper exposure and white balance in various lighting conditions.
Powered by Nothing’s TrueLens Engine 4, the Phone (4b) provides Ultra XDR imaging. This technology combines 13 RAW frames to create brighter highlights, more detailed shadows, and better colors compared to regular HDR. Typically found in high-end smartphones, Ultra XDR enhances computational photography, producing more natural and realistic images.
The Phone (4b) can also record 4K video at 30fps. Thanks to OIS, EIS, and AI anti-shake, it provides smooth and stable footage without extra equipment. For the first time, it offers dual video capture, enabling users to record with both the front and rear cameras at the same time, while allowing flexibility in positioning the selfie window anywhere on the screen for more creative control.
Phone (4b) offers a variety of creative tools to enhance your photography. It includes unique Disco and DV filters for photos and videos, easy-to-use Signature Presets for quick style changes, and Playground for exploring new creative effects.
The phone has a large 6.77-inch Super AMOLED display with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, bright outdoor visibility at 1,200 nits, and a peak brightness of 2,000 nits, supporting HDR10+. This display technology provides deep blacks and vibrant colors. The high brightness level makes HDR visuals stand out more, showing details clearly. With a quick 1,000Hz touch sampling rate, the phone is very responsive, making it great for gaming.
Every design aspect of Phone (4b) focuses on improving user experience, including sound quality. It features true dual stereo speakers that produce clear and balanced sound, offering a 20% better stereo experience than Phone (4a). The innovative 160-level volume control allows for precise sound adjustments, making it feel natural.
Nothing OS 4.1, based on Android 16, enhances the user experience with better animations, smoother interactions, 160-level volume control, and the new Soundscape Widget for customized sound. Phone (4b) promises 3 years of Android updates and 6 years of security fixes, which is the longest in its category. It also uses smart technology to prevent screen burn-in, prolonging display life.
Additionally, Phone (4b) integrates essential AI features like built-in ChatGPT across the interface and handy tools like Google Gemini and voice commands. With the Essential Key, users can quickly access various features like Essential Space and Essential Voice, making it easy to capture and organize ideas.
Manufactured with high precision, Phone (4b) goes through 68 quality checks and over 95,000 tests to ensure reliable performance for up to four years. It is also environmentally friendly, with a carbon footprint of just 54.7 kg COâ‚‚e, made with recycled materials, and packaged in over 99% plastic-free materials (except for the PET paper composite label).
