Ear (3a) has 32 MB of built-in storage, letting users record audio directly through their earbuds. With a feature called Audio Snapshot, users can quickly save audio they are listening to, like parts of an online lecture or a voice message from a friend. By pinching both earbuds, Ear (3a) captures sound before and after the pinch, creating an audio “screenshot” of the moment.
Recordings sync automatically with the Nothing X app, where they can be played back, edited, shared, and turned into text. Users can even create shareable quote cards from important parts of the transcript, making it easier to remember and share what matters most.
Remember what they said with Call recording
Ear (3a) also lets you record calls and meetings directly from the earbuds. With just a simple gesture, you can start recording conversations for about 2 hours without needing to grab your phone. This ensures that important moments are never missed.
The recordings automatically sync to the Nothing X app, where you can replay, edit, and create transcripts. A privacy notification will let everyone know when the recording is happening.

At the heart of Ear (3a) is a new 12 mm dynamic driver that provides deeper bass and clearer sound. This bigger driver can push out more air, making bass sounds up to 5 dB stronger than the last version, while a lightweight diaphragm ensures crisp, clear highs.
Certified for Hi-Res Audio Wireless and compatible with LDAC, Ear (3a) allows high-quality audio transmission up to 24-bit/96 kHz, keeping music rich, balanced, and true to the original. Users can customize their listening experience using the Advanced EQ in the Nothing X app, which includes an 8-band equalizer and profile sharing.
Static Spatial Audio takes regular stereo sound and expands it into a wider, more immersive experience, making movies, live shows, and everyday listening feel more exciting.
Ignore the boring bits with Wideband Active Noise Cancellation
Ear (3a) offers up to 45 dB of Wideband Active Noise Cancellation, enhancing focus in various environments. Improved acoustic mesh and ANC algorithms boost noise reduction, especially between 400 Hz and 2000 Hz, with a 17.1% increase over the previous generation. Transparency Mode lets in outside sounds when awareness is needed.
Each earbud features three microphones paired with an AI-powered noise reduction system to maintain clear voice quality during calls, even in noisy settings.
Striking design meets comfort
The redesigned charging case is inspired by pill packets and shrink-wrapped shapes, giving it a rounder, friendlier look that feels fun. The earbuds keep Nothing’s clear design while adding better details and comfort, including a new XS ear tip size for a better fit for more people.
The charging case also has a simple 1×3 LED light that helps users quickly check battery levels, charging status, pairing progress, and other important information.

Ear (3a) offers up to 10 hours of playback on the earbuds and 42 hours total with the charging case when ANC is off. With ANC on, it provides up to 6 hours on the earbuds and 25 hours total with the charging case. A quick five-minute charge gives about one hour of playback.
Control how you listen with Nothing X
The Nothing X app offers features like EQ tuning, profile sharing, firmware updates, and Find My Earbuds. Ear (3a) works with Nothing smartphones for easy access to ChatGPT and Essential News, enhancing hands-free productivity and daily updates.
