Kegani Racing Academy announces exciting plan for 2025-2026 season SKILLDRVN Series

Kegani Racing Academy has officially announced a more exciting third season of its SKILLDRVN One Make Race Series and unveiled plans for the all-new SKILLDRVN SWIFT SUPERCUP PRO-SERIES that will begin in 2026.

Season 3 of the SKILLDRVN One Make Race Series will consist of 5 rounds held in conjunction with the Malaysia Speed Festival (MSF) at the Petronas Sepang International Circuit.

The SKILLDRVN One Make Race Series allows young drivers and racing enthusiasts to compete in identical Suzuki Swifts, designed for affordable racing with minimal modifications. All cars are race-ready, featuring a sealed 1.6-litre engine with a Series-spec remap and a standard 5-speed manual transmission. The cars have a 12-point roll cage, FIA-approved racing seat and safety harness, coil over suspension, brake pads, steel braided brake lines, a 4-1 extractor, and alloy wheels. Participants can buy the race car or rent it through an arrive-and-drive program.

First held in 2023, the SKILLDRVN One Make Race Series is a grassroots racing platform that provides guidance and education to help aspiring racers learn quickly and affordably. Future Malaysian motorsport stars develop their skills through the Academy’s coursework, which includes both classroom and on-track sessions, before they graduate and receive their racing certification.

“The format of a one-make race emphasizes on honing skills and developing new talent on the track while keeping the cost affordable and within reach of a larger talent pool. We’ve successfully run the series for two years and coming into our third year, there seems to be a great boost in the level of interest from newcomers,” said Kegani Racing Academy Team Principal & Chief Coach Kenny Lee.

Meanwhile, in Season 2 (2024), Loke Yin Yi, a lady driver, was named the overall champion of the SKILLDRVN One Make Race Series. She won products and racing incentives worth RM8500. The 2024 Series also revealed a young talent, 15-year-old Kirill Syrapushchynski, who finished as the runner-up in his first season after moving up from karting.

Starting in 2026, Lee announced that Kegani Racing Academy will launch the SKILLDRVN SWIFT SUPERCUP PRO-SERIES, which will run alongside the SKILLDRVN One Make Race Series. The Pro-Series will have 10 racing teams, each with one driver. Teams will select their drivers from the SKILLDRVN One Make Race Series talent pool to compete professionally. The chosen drivers will receive a race contract, with all expenses covered by their teams.

Race teams will have their cars decorated to get the best exposure and showcase their brands. Two teams already signed up for the 2026 competition are the BENDIX ULTIMATE RACING TEAM and Team PROFIMAX MAX UP.

Supporting Kegani Racing Academy’s Driver Development Program in the SKILLDRVN One Make Race Series and SKILLDRVN SWIFT SUPERCUP PRO-SERIES are partners BENDIX, TOTAL ENERGIES, PROFIMAX, ADVANTI RACING, GITI, KJ BRAKE, ZX1, ULTRA RACING, and LIFESTYLE MOTORSPORTS.

“The support and contribution of all partners in the Driver Development Program is paramount. It ensures that we are not only able to collaboratively reduce the cost of entry into motor-racing, but more importantly, ensures these new talent begin their journey with the right foundation in place in terms of having the proper equipment, components, support, safety and protection,” said Lee.

Lee will keep serving as Malaysia’s Ambassador for Bendix premium braking components. He was appointed as Bendix brand ambassador last year, but his connection to the brand dates back to 1998, when he first began racing.
