Insta360 has launched the Insta360 X6, its new 8K 360 camera and the biggest upgrade in the X series. This year marks ten years of Insta360 in 360 cameras. The X6 showcases a decade of innovation and craftsmanship and will be available for sale on 12 August 2026.
X6 is available starting 12 August 2026 from the Insta360 Official Store, Amazon, and select retailers, priced from RM2899 in Malaysia.
The X6 lets in more light than any previous X camera. It features custom dual Sony 1/1.1″ square sensors that provide full 1-inch equivalent 360 imaging, offering 33% more sensor area than the X5 and around four times better light capture per frame. It handles low light, harsh backlighting, and high contrast easily, making it great for various lighting conditions.
Inside, it has a triple AI chip: one powerful 8-core processor running at 3.3GHz, along with two specialized imaging chips. This setup gives it 500% more computing power than the X5, a 106% faster clock speed, and 35% lower energy use. The improvements lead to sharper details, cleaner colors, and better noise reduction in dark settings. A new low-light mode uses two ambient light sensors to reduce flicker and enhance night scene quality, while AdaptiveTone 2.0 measures each lens separately and captures two exposures for a wider range of colors.
The X6 is also the first 360 camera to have native in-camera Dolby Vision. It analyzes each frame to adjust contrast and brightness for every shot. With 10-bit color and over 1.07 billion recordable colors, the X6 provides a professional color profile straight from the camera.
The 3-in-1 Camera Ecosystem
This is the headline. X6 is a 360 camera, a gimbal camera that follows subjects, and a single-lens action cam, all switched with a tap.
Shoot first, frame later. Press record and enjoy the moment. X6 captures everything around you at 8K resolution and 50 frames per second, so you can choose the best angles later. Reframe just once or many times: the whole scene is always available.
Flat 4K straight from the camera. InstaFrame 2.0 quickly locks onto subjects and tracks people, pets, and objects, giving you clear flat 4K video with no editing needed. Use the new Foldable Selfie Stick Remote Kit, and its joystick will let you track like a gimbal, without needing a separate gimbal. Plus, with the POV Head Tracker, the camera follows your line of sight, capturing whatever you look at.
A classic action cam when you want one. Switch to single-lens mode and shoot like a regular action camera at up to 5K and 60 frames per second, wide-angle up to 170 degrees (at 5K and 30 frames per second), or 4K at 120 frames per second for slow-motion shots that are worth rewatching.

Built for Professional Post-Production
X6 provides colorists flexibility. Shoot in I-Log to retain full dynamic range in highlights and shadows, ensuring broad latitude in post-production, and grade from 10-bit footage with over 1.07 billion colors. Insta360 Studio remains free on Mac and Windows for multi-clip 360 editing, stitching, and exporting.
Zero-Edit: A Finished Video While You Charge
X6 edits for you, and Insta360 PanoMind makes it happen. It was created using over 10,000 hours of videos from more than 30 settings, like travel, daily life, winter sports, motorcycling, diving, and cycling. PanoMind is the first AI model designed for 360-degree videos, allowing it to understand entire spherical scenes instead of just flat images.
To use it, plug the X6 in to charge, and the AI Director, which is the editing tool inside PanoMind, makes a highlight reel from the camera’s footage and sends the finished videos to the Insta360 app. This analysis happens directly on the camera, not in the cloud, and you can turn the feature off anytime. There’s no need to wait or rely on a timeline.

Insta360+ Cloud: Backup, Sharing, and Moments Pro
Insta360+ Cloud Service provides up to 2TB of storage with automated backup while the X6 charges, allowing seamless transfer of shooting footage from your phone. Backup is optional, and users select what to upload. Sharing involves a link that presents a full 360 view.
The X6 uploads files to the cloud for use in Moments Pro, a new editing tool powered by Google Gemini. Users can define subject, mood, style, and timeframe for video generation. Unlike AI Director, which creates a finished edit automatically, Moments Pro lets users describe their desired film instead of building it from scratch.

X6 goes on sale August 12 at the Insta360 Official Store, Amazon, and authorized retailers, starting at US$669.99 for the Standard Bundle.
Additional bundles include the Essentials Bundle at US$799.99. Purchase and activate X6 before September 30, 2026, to receive one year of Insta360+ Premium cloud storage at 500GB and three months of Moments Pro (offering two clips per month) for free. Insta360 FlexiCare is an optional add-on for accidental damage, with a launch-window 90-day free replacement policy. The refreshed Trade-In program offers cash for old cameras or gear towards a new X6.
