i-SiNG Malaysia 2020: It’s time to sing, Malaysian

I-Sing World is one of the world’s biggest vocal competitions and Malaysia is privileged to play host to its international finals for the very first time this year, in conjunction with Visit Malaysia Year 2020. The i-SiNG finals in Malaysia is endorsed and supported by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts & Culture.

The i-SiNG World Finals in Stockhom, Sweden, last year, saw participation from 47 countries, with over 50 countries expected to send their representatives to compete for honours in both the junior and senior categories in Kuala Lumpur, this year.

The organiser will start i-SiNG Malaysia 2020 auditiion from March 2020 to select the chosen Malaysian as our representatives to this highly respected and prestigious vocal competition.

So how does the competition works?

According to the organizer, i-SiNG Malaysia 2020 will consist of categories which is Juniors (solo singers aged 6 to 16 years), Solo Seniors (solo singers aged 17 and above) and Group (any combination of 2 to 5 singers regardless of age).

The organizers for i-SiNG Malaysia 2020 also applied some qualifying terms for the contestant which is:

  • Malaysian citizen
  • Contestant must bring their own music CD (no acapella)
  • Contestant can sing in any language for the auditions.  For the Finals, contestants will be required to sing 2 songs of which, one must be in Bahasa Malaysia.
  • Contestant must not be tied up with any recording company. 
  • Audition fees are RM100.00 for each solo contestant and RM200.00 for each group.  Early birds will receive a 20% discount.

For Round 2, all contestant sing their 2nd song in their native language and in full duration. Scores will be accumulated and top winners will be announce for the 1st place, 2nd place and Champion title.

Where do I need to go to qualify in Malaysia?

The organiser is preparing 5 locations for auditions which held at various date. i-SiNG Malaysia 2020 audition will be happening on:

March 14-15 Plaza Pelangi, Johor Bahru

March 21-22 Mahkota Parade, Malacca

April 04-05 Centrepoint Sabah, Kota Kinabalu

April 11-12 Kuching, Sarawak

June 20-21 Berjaya Times Square, Kuala Lumpur

July 04 Finals, Kuala Lumpur
