GR Supra Track Edition and GR Yaris Automatic Variant now officially available in Malaysia

UMW Toyota Motor Sdn Bhd has officially announced the availability of the GR Supra Track Edition and the GR Yaris Automatic Variant.

These two models combine motorsport engineering with rally-tested features for everyday driving, showcasing Toyota’s promise of thrilling, driver-centered experiences. The GR Supra Track Edition continues a tradition of over forty years, offering improved handling, better chassis control, and a track-inspired look. At the same time, the GR Yaris Automatic Variant introduces an automatic version with top-notch transmission performance, allowing more fans to enjoy the GR brand while maintaining its racing legacy.

GR Supra Track Edition

The Track Edition now offers a series of chassis, handling and aerodynamic upgrades designed for drivers who demand absolute confidence on the edge for their GR Supra.

The GR Supra Track Edition features an iconic coupe design with enhanced aerodynamics, including a double bubble roof, unique front spats, and aero flaps for increased downforce. A carbon fibre ducktail spoiler complements its sleek profile. It is equipped with 6-lens LED headlights that offer strong illumination without causing glare to oncoming traffic, thanks to the Adaptive High Beam system. The rear lighting consists of full LED lamps and fog lights, giving the sportscar a sportier appearance.

The GR Supra Track Edition is powered by a 3.0-litre inline 6-cylinder turbocharged B58 engine that produces 388 PS and 500 Nm of torque, matched to either a 6-speed manual or 8-speed automatic transmission with paddle shifters. The century sprint is achieved in just 4.1 seconds for the automatic, and 4.3 seconds for the manual.

Performance doesn’t just comes alone with just power as the GR Supra Track Edition‘s Adaptive Variable Suspension has been retuned for greater grip. The Electric Power Steering and Limited Slip Differential both receive Track Edition-exclusive control mapping for sharper feedback and better stability, especially under high-speed cornering. For stronger and more consistent stopping power, it is equipped with the larger 374mm front discs, paired with 4-piston Brembo calipers.

It also receives the lightweight 19-inch matte black forged alloy wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Super Sport tyres. The tyres are ZR-rated (above 240 km/h) and sized 255/35 at the front and 275/35 at the rear.

Inside, the cabin has black Alcantara and leather seats with GR embroidery, red seatbelts, and a red shift knob for the manual version. A 12-speaker JBL sound system and color Head-Up Display enhance the driver-focused cockpit. Toyota Supra Safety comes standard with features like Pre-Collision Warning, Lane Departure Warning with Steering Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control, Blind Spot Monitor, and Emergency Braking aided by smart parking sensors.

The GR Supra Track Edition starts at RM698,000.00 for the Malaysia market. Each GR Supra Track Edition from GR Garage dealerships (which offer the GR models exclusively) comes with a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty. Full aftersales support, including genuine parts, is available at these specialist dealerships which also sell GR high performance products and GR merchandise.

GR Yaris Expands Lineup with New 8-Speed Automatic Variant and Enhanced Performance

After the debut of the GR Yaris facelifted model with a manual transmission during Season 7 finale of Toyota Gazoo Racing Malaysia, UMWT is now launching the GR Yaris featuring the 8-speed GAZOO Racing Direct Automatic Transmission.

Developed with input from the Toyota GAZOO Racing World Rally Team, the 8-speed automatic transmission provides quick and accurate gear shifts based on how the driver uses the accelerator and brake. Unlike traditional automatics that react to vehicle behavior, this system understands driver intent earlier, offering a sharper response and a more engaging feel during spirited driving.

The 8-Speed Automatic Variant is still powered by 1.6-litre 3-cylinder DOHC 4-valve turbocharged engine (G16E-GTS) but received increased power by 19PS and 30Nm of torque, with maximum figures now at 300PS and 400Nm. This improves acceleration time from 0 – 100 km/h to 5.2 seconds with a governed top speed of 230 km/h. To ensure durability on the car’s performance, the pressure in the D-4ST fuel injection is also higher while a new intake pressure sensor has been added. There is also a larger exhaust pipe designed to reduce back pressure by 40% to contribute to the high engine output. It also uses the GR-Four AWD System, like its manual transmission sibling.

UMWT has also included the cooling package as standard (it is optional in some countries). A cooler engine can provide sustained high performance even in hot weather conditions, important during intense competition conditions. The cooling package consists of a sub-radiator, cold air intake duct, intercooler spray and NACA Duct undercarriage cover. With the additional cold air intake duct design, less hot air is drawn from the inside of the engine compartment. The Intercooler spray is activated by a switch on the instrument panel before performance driving, with the intermittent operation set to 150s based off actual competition time. For the GR Yaris with 8-speed GAZOO Racing DAT, there is also a cooler for the automatic transmission fluid.

The Drive Mode Select features Eco, Normal, Sports, and Custom modes, enhancing controllability for both motorsports and daily driving, and its installation is made possible by changes in the electronic platform, despite being a minor model change. The GR Yaris with GAZOO Racing DAT features different shift feels across modes: SPORT prioritizes response, while Normal and Eco provide a balance. In the D range, SPORT mode enhances response, and M range allows for faster shifts. The optimal engine performance is achieved between 4,900 rpm and 7,200 rpm.

The GR Yaris Automatic Variant offers more than a new transmission. It features Launch Control, optimizing engine torque and traction for better acceleration from a standstill. This system helps drivers start with precision during spirited driving. With an 8-speed GAZOO Racing Direct Automatic Transmission and responsive paddle shifters, the GR Yaris automatic provides an intuitive driving experience, bringing the excitement of rally driving to everyday use.

The 2025 GR Yaris features enhanced light but rigid suspension systems with improved front MacPherson struts and rear double wishbones. The upgrade from single to triple fastening points for the shock absorbers enhances alignment stability and durability during performance driving. Stiffer front and rear springs have been optimized for better handling and responsiveness. Additionally, the Performance Pack includes standard 18-inch BBS forged alloy wheels and Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tyres.

As with all GR models, safety is a priority. The GR Yaris Automatic Variant comes equipped with Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, which includes enhanced Pre-Collision and Radar Cruise Control systems, Lane Tracing Assist, and Expert Mode for experienced drivers who want more dynamic control without fully disengaging stability systems.

The GR Yaris Automatic Variant is offered at RM325,600.00. Each GR Yaris from GR Garage dealerships (which offer the GR models exclusively) comes with a 5-year unlimited mileage warranty. Full aftersales support, including genuine parts, is available at these specialist dealerships which also sell GR high performance products and GR merchandise.
