Google debuts Advertising Revenue Lab Malaysia for enhancing Digital News

Google announced the launch of the Google News Initiative’s Advertising Revenue Lab Malaysia, with support from the Ministry of Communications. This program aims to empower small and medium-sized news publishers in Malaysia by providing them with tools and knowledge to succeed in the changing media landscape.

“The Ministry of Communications welcomes and appreciates Google’s initiative to improve media sustainability in Malaysia. This collaboration marks a crucial milestone for the Malaysian news industry. By equipping news publishers with essential digital tools and expertise, we believe that their business models can be enhanced, ensuring a diverse, more sustainable and thriving local news ecosystem,” said YB Fahmi Fadzil, Minister of Communications.

The Advertising Revenue Lab Malaysia is part of Google News Initiative’s efforts to work with publishers of all sizes to improve their digital advertising capabilities and create sustainable business models. The program focuses on offering technical and product training, hands-on support for website optimization, enhancing audience engagement, and increasing advertising revenue for newsrooms.

The Ministry of Communications sees this collaboration as a crucial milestone for the Malaysian news industry, with the goal of enhancing media sustainability. The launch of the Advertising Revenue Lab Malaysia by Google is a positive development for Malaysian media, as it helps publishers optimize their digital platforms and strengthen advertising strategies.
