‘GOLDEN BLESSINGS’ 《黄金囍事》, a 2027 Chinese New Year comedy film, will be featuring talent from Malaysia and Hong Kong to bring a festive cinematic adventure filled with laughter, warmth and surprises. The film is directed by Hong Kong filmmaker Mak Ho Pong and produced and written by Edmond Wong, the screenwriter and original story creator behind the acclaimed IP MAN franchise.
Blending elements of romance, family, comedy, and adventure, ‘GOLDEN BLESSINGS’ takes place in a five-star hotel where a diverse group of people, each with their own backgrounds and stories, come together unexpectedly. What starts as a normal stay quickly turns into a fun treasure hunt across the hotel, full of misunderstandings, surprises, and unexpected meetings.
The film features a talented cast from Malaysia and Hong Kong. The cast from Hong Kong includes Owen Cheung, Benjamin Yuen, Ruco Chan, Mandy Wong, Kent Cheng, Emily Kwan, Ha Yu, Shirley Chan, and Stefan Wong. Malaysian artists Andy Teh and Miko Wong also join this impressive lineup.
Adding to the fun are the colorful characters played by the talented cast. Ruco Chan is a strong underworld boss, Benjamin Yuen plays a hotel manager, and Owen Cheung is a young talent. Mandy Wong is a housekeeping supervisor, while Shirley Chan is a key opinion leader (KOL). Malaysian actor Andy Teh portrays a martial arts stuntman, and Miko Wong is a rich heiress. Kent Cheng and Emily Kwan are a wealthy married couple, and Ha Yu plays a lonely elderly man. Each character has their own stories and struggles, all happening in the hotel.
The story is about four people who feel stuck in life and whose paths cross because of a mysterious treasure map. Even though they don’t know each other, they form a surprising “treasure-hunting team” and decide to sneak into the hotel to find a legendary hidden treasure.
With its cheerful and lively comedic style, ‘GOLDEN BLESSINGS’ combines adventure, romance, family ties, and the colorful aspects of life, creating a fun story full of humor, heart, and unexpected turns. ‘GOLDEN BLESSINGS’ is presented by Enotech Films and Mandarin Pictures Production, along with Astro Shaw, Sil-Metropole Organisation, Shanghai Pictures, and BaoZhijie Group. The film will be distributed by GSC Movies and aims to provide a mix of laughs, heart, and surprises during the 2027 Chinese New Year celebrations.
