vivo today unveiled its first mixed reality (MR) headset, the vivo Vision Discovery Edition, at the vivo Vision Launch Event. This marks a significant milestone in vivo’s exploration of spatial computing and immersive technology.
With expertise in imaging, sensors, and display technologies, vivo has tackled key engineering challenges in MR devices, focusing on perception, interaction, and computational performance. The vivo Vision Discovery Edition is the first MR product developed by a Chinese smartphone manufacturer, establishing vivo’s presence in both the smartphone and MR sectors.
The vivo Vision Discovery Edition is a lightweight and ergonomically designed mixed reality device that advances vivo’s home robotics strategy. Weighing 398g and measuring 83 mm in height and 40 mm in thickness, it is 26% smaller than average, enhancing comfort. Its design includes multiple light seal sizes and foam padding options for an optimal fit and lasting comfort during extended use.
vivo Vision Discovery Edition features the Qualcomm Snapdragon XR2+ Gen 2 platform, offering up to 2.5x GPU and 8x AI performance for enhanced visual and interactive experiences. It runs on OriginOS Vision, facilitating intuitive interactions and covering entertainment, gaming, and productivity. The headset allows panoramic viewing and split-screen options for live sports and e-sports, and can create a 120-foot theater screen for cinematic experiences anywhere.
The vivo Vision Discovery Edition is now available for experience in selected vivo Concept Stores in Malaysia, expanding the OriginOS Vision ecosystem beyond smartphones for a better digital experience.
