EPB Group Berhad (“EPB”) has announced two strategic initiatives to fuel its growth: a partnership with Shenzhen Honglin Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd. and a collaboration with Nidec Corporation.
The partnership with Shenzhen Honglin aims to enhance EPB’s regional growth and innovation by forming a new entity, AI Medic Device Equipment Supplies Sdn. Bhd. (“AI MEDIC”), where EPB will hold an 80% stake. This platform will focus on integrating robotics and AI into food processing to improve efficiency and hygiene.
Simultaneously, the collaboration with Nidec involves incorporating Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) into EPB’s machinery, enhancing energy efficiency and reducing operational costs. Mr. Yeoh Chee Min, Managing Director of EPB, stated that these initiatives aim to elevate Southeast Asia’s food manufacturing industry through sustainability and innovation.
Additionally, EPB is expanding its production footprint in Penang with plans for a new factory and R&D functions to support its growing automation portfolio. These moves underline EPB’s commitment to long-term value and sustainable growth.
