Crucible Camp by Optimum Nutrition brings an exciting online fitness event to viewers. It’s an action-packed series filmed in Negeri Sembilan, Malaysia, offering a behind-the-scenes look at Asia’s Ultimate Fitness Camp.
Participants from Malaysia, Hong Kong, Indonesia, the Philippines, China, and South Korea included Asia’s top fitness champions. The team featured 12 athletes from competitions like Crucible Fitness Games, HYROX, CrossFit, Spartan Race, Dekafit, UA Combine, IronMan, and functional fitness, including Physical: 100 Season 2’s runner-up Hong Beom-seok.
Callum Meehan, the creator of Crucible Fitness Games and a Hyrox APAC Record Holder, started Crucible with a goal to create the most exciting mass-participation functional fitness event in the world, focused on the Asian audience.
“Crucible Camp by Optimum Nutrition was created to bring together some of the best fitness athletes in Asia and give them a platform to train, compete and grow alongside one another. Bringing the camp to Malaysia was an exciting opportunity to build that community further and showcase the incredible level of talent we have across the region,” said Callum.
“Southeast Asia is a very social market – people like training, traveling, and competing together. That community side is a big part of why this sport has so much potential here. Fitness communities are growing here, and people are becoming more health-conscious, and there’s a much bigger appetite for experiences. There’s also a lot of room to grow across the wider region, and that’s exciting because we’re not just looking at where the sport is today. We’re thinking about where it could be in five or ten years,” he explained.

Turning up the heat, the Crucible experience challenges athletes to their limits through Crucible Camp by Optimum Nutrition. This intense competition took place from 1 – 5 July 2026 at Hooton Retreat, Negeri Sembilan, and lasted for 5 days and 4 nights. It was an exclusive camp for fitness lovers.

The camp featured top fitness athletes from Asia, including champions from Crucible, HYROX, CrossFit, and Spartan Race.

Over five days, 12 athletes took on workouts and challenges based on Crucible’s four workout zones – FIRE, FORCE, FLOW, and FORGE. Some of the key challenges included a tough 90-minute workout loop with weighted runs and 40kg farmer’s carries, along with the competitive Crucible Combine, which featured tug of war, an upper body strength test, and hill sprints.
The camp also focused on recovery and athlete wellbeing. Dedicated recovery sessions allowed athletes to relax and bond with each other during the competition.
“At an intensive event like Crucible Camp, providing our athletes with the strength and recovery support needed to perform at their peak is essential – which is why we’re grateful to have Optimum Nutrition with us since day one as a founding partner,” continued Callum.
“It means that every competing athlete gets access to the exact same uncompromising quality and trusted performance nutrition, knowing their products go through over 100,000 rigorous quality and safety checks. Whether you’re an elite athlete or an everyday fitness enthusiast, Optimum Nutrition delivers the exact same performance nutrition to help you recover and progress.“
Crucible Camp by Optimum Nutrition will release its cinematic 7-episode web series starting from 31 August 2026, offering audiences an inside look at the grit, camaraderie, and competition of Crucible culture.
Crucible Fitness Games

Engineered to test the “full athlete”, Crucible Fitness Games is designed around 4 distinct workout zones. The course is separated by a one-minute recovery between each zone, with the overall objective of completing the entire course in the fastest time.
The four distinct zones are:
- FIRE: Cardiovascular Endurance (Bike Erg, Row, Burden Run)
- FORCE: Strength and Power (Deadball Power Trip, Sandbag Hoist, Sled Push & Pull)
- FLOW: Speed, Agility, and Coordination (Burpee To Plate, Crucible Chamber, Run)
- FORGE: Metabolic Conditioning (Ski Erg, Lactic Legs, Cruci-Haul)
Accommodating a total capacity of 10,000 combined participants and spectators, athletes can compete in any of three categories—Singles, Doubles or Teams—and can select from Bronze, Silver or Gold divisions, ensuring the competition is accessible to all fitness levels and age groups. Competitors have up to 60 minutes to complete the course, with staggered heats launching every 10 minutes.
