
Heineken Malaysia has recently hosted its inaugural Player 0.0 Malaysia 2024 and crown its first champion, Chong Kai Chang. The event is under the brand’s “When You Drive, Never Drink” (WYDND) platform, featuring Max Verstappen, a three-time Formula 1 (F1) World Champion and WYDND ambassador.




Player 0.0 is a mobile and sim racing competition that underscores the importance of sober driving. Over 1,500 participants engaged in the game, resulting in 50,000 game plays. The top 20 racers competed in the Malaysia Finals, aiming to represent the country in the global finals.

The Player 0.0 Malaysia Finals took place at Piazza, Pavilion Bukit Jalil alongside a live viewing of the Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix. Spectators enjoyed the race while witnessing the exciting gameplay of the finalists. Chong Kai Chang emerged as Malaysia’s “Player 0.0,” earning a spot in the global finals at Gamergy in Madrid, Spain. The highlight of the global finals is the chance to meet Max Verstappen.
Willemijn Sneep, Marketing Director of Heineken Malaysia Berhad, highlighted the brand’s commitment to promoting responsible consumption through innovative initiatives like Player 0.0. The goal is to inspire consumers to enjoy responsibly and emphasize that the best driver is one who doesn’t drink, unless it’s Heineken 0.0.
