Along with ZTE Corporation, they have collaborated to showcase the power of 5G-Advanced (5G-A) technology in enabling the “Sports of Tomorrow” and supporting the country’s digital agenda.
The deployment of 5G-A technology at Stadium Sarawak includes three key showcases:

First-ever live UltraHD broadcast of SUKMA 2024: The opening ceremony of SUKMA 2024 will be broadcasted live in UltraHD using 5G-A technology. Portable 5G-A-enabled cameras will transmit high-quality video in 4K or 8K resolution to broadcasters’ servers on the cloud, allowing for live broadcasting with multiple camera angles and perspectives. This initiative aims to provide viewers with a more dynamic and immersive viewing experience.

360° cameras with remote virtual reality (VR) broadcast: 360° cameras powered by 5G-A technology will offer Extended Reality (XR) experiences through VR headsets placed at the 5G-Advanced Pavilion. Viewers can enjoy an immersive 360° view of the sports arena in real time, enhancing the XR experience with virtual and augmented reality applications and cloud gaming features.

5G-A speed demonstration – 30.8Gbps: The joint Pavilion will demonstrate the speed of 5G-A technology at an impressive 30.8Gbps, setting a record for the fastest 5G-A trial in Malaysia. This achievement shows the potential of ultra-fast connectivity in transforming industries and enhancing virtual experiences, IoT capabilities, and data transfer speeds.
