‘Back in Black’ as Rolls-Royce Black Badge Cullinan arrives in Malaysia

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Kuala Lumpur has launched the Black Badge Cullinan in Malaysia which makes it the only dealer in the region to have full Black Badge family. The reason for launching this special SUV in Malaysia, according to Anas Zawawi Khalid, Executive Director for Quill Motorcars Sdn Bhd said: “We are seeing a distinct change in the Super-luxury arena within Malaysia. Increasingly, we are welcoming younger, adventurous Rolls-Royce customers alongside our more established clientele. We have refreshed our Black Badge range for 2020, and have already seen strong interest from customers who are looking for something very contemporary and bold.”

For those who are interested in the Black Badge Cullinan, Rolls-Royce has decided to increase the power of the 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V12 through an entirely new exhaust system from 563hp to 593hp, 850Nm to 900Nm (664 lb ft). To make up for the for the performance, the drive-train, ZF 8-speed gear box and both front and rear steered axles work collaboratively to adjust the levels of engagement depending on throttle and steering inputs. Changes to suspension components and settings add to the suite of dynamic technologies that ensure an appropriate balance between dynamism and refinement.

But what makes the Black Badge Cullinan attention grabbing is the Black Badge’s signature Black paint option. Multiple layers of paint and lacquer are meticulously applied and hand-polished 10 times at the Home of Rolls-Royce in Goodwood, West Sussex, representing the most comprehensive surface finish process ever applied to a solid paint colour. To go along with that awesome paintwork is The Spirit of Ecstasy mascot is presented in high gloss black chrome. For the first time this finish extends onto its mounting plate, creating the darkest Black Badge yet. 

Other details are added as well to make the Black Badge Cullinan stand out as well. The ‘Double R’ badge on the front, flanks and aft invert to become silver-on-black, while chrome surfaces such as the front grille surround, side frame finishers, boot handle, boot trim, lower air inlet finisher and exhaust pipes are darkened. Rolls-Royce even installed the all-new 22-inch forged alloy wheels on the SUV, reserved exclusively for Black Badge Cullinan with high gloss Red paint for the brake calipers to withstand the rigours of elevated temperatures generated by the motor car’s uprated braking system.

Rolls-Royce Motor Cars Kuala Lumpur is setting the price for the Black Badge Cullinan from *RM 1.7 million (Not inclusive of duties). Moreover, Rolls-Royce cars are bespoke, meaning customers can request to add customization and pricing is heavily dependent on customer specifications.
