The ASEAN E-Commerce Conference 2025 is an important event where ASEAN countries and industry leaders agreed on the ASEAN Joint Vision on a Trusted and Inclusive E-Commerce Ecosystem 2030. This agreement shows their commitment to creating a clearer and fairer e-commerce environment, helping ASEAN build a stronger digital economy in the future.
The two-day conference, led by Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living, Senator Datuk Dr. Fuziah Salleh, brought together government officials, industry leaders, digital experts, and international organizations to discuss strategies for improvement.
Co-organized with the Malaysian International Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MICCI) and the National Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Malaysia (NCCIM), the conference highlights Malaysia’s role in leading ASEAN’s digital efforts as it will chair ASEAN in 2025.
The agreement aims to boost consumer trust, increase accountability of platforms, and encourage responsible business practices in the digital economy across the region.
A key goal is to ensure better access for small businesses, women entrepreneurs, and rural communities who still face challenges in the digital world. It also promotes improved coordination across borders to make online transactions smoother and more efficient.
KPDN believes that the ASEAN Joint Vision on a Trusted and Inclusive E-Commerce Ecosystem 2030 will help build a stronger and more reliable e-commerce environment in the region. Malaysia is committed to continuing efforts to align policies, strengthen regulations, and promote an inclusive digital economy for the benefit of everyone in ASEAN.
