Apple has launched its latest iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max, offering impressive best-ever performance, camera systems, and battery life in an iPhone.
The Pro models are now powered by the A19 Pro, capable of delivering higher performance levels while the addition of the new Apple-designed vapour chamber helps to enhance heat dissipation and performance. A19 Pro is capable of deliver up to 40 percent better sustained performance than the previous generation — ideal for gaming, video editing, and running large local language models. The 6-core CPU is the fastest CPU in any smartphone, and the 6-core GPU architecture includes Neural Accelerators built into each GPU core, a larger cache, and more memory than A18 Pro. The GPU works in tandem with the new 16-core Neural Engine to power Al models, stunning graphics, and AAA gaming titles like Arknights: Endfield, enabling hardware-accelerated ray tracing and higher frame rates.
Deionised water is sealed inside the vapour chamber, laser-welded into the aluminium chassis to move heat away from the A19 Pro, allowing higher performance levels. The heat is carried into the forged aluminium unibody, evenly distributing through the system to manage power and surface temperatures for incredible performance while remaining comfortable to hold.
The iPhone 17 lineup also introduces N1, a new Apple-designed wireless networking chip that enables Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6, and Thread. In addition to powering the latest generation of wireless technologies, N1 improves the overall performance and reliability of features like Personal Hotspot and AirDrop.

The new brushed aluminium unibody design on the Pro models are using the lightweight aerospace-grade 7000-series aluminium alloy. Over to the rear, the plateau creates additional space for internal components — making room for a larger battery. The antennas are integrated around the perimeter for the highest-performing antenna system ever in an iPhone.
The unibody design allows for a bigger battery, and thanks to the A19 Pro’s efficiency and iOS 26’s power management, the iPhone 17 Pro Max provides the best battery life ever. Both models can charge 50 percent in just 20 minutes with a high-wattage USB-C power adapter, such as Apple’s new 40W Dynamic Power Adapter with a 60W maximum.

The iPhone 17 Pro comes in with a 6.3-inch size and iPhone 17 Pro Max is 6.9-inch size as they are packing with the Super Retina XDR display that is protected by Ceramic Shield 2. With Ceramic Shield 2, it offers 3x better scratch resistance and improved anti-reflection to reduce glare. The displays feature ProMotion up to 120Hz, Always-On, and 3000 nits of peak outdoor brightness — the highest ever on iPhone — and 2x better outdoor contrast. For the first time, Ceramic Shield protects the back of the devices, delivering 4x better resistance to cracks than the back glass on previous models.

iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max now gets three 48MP Fusion cameras, allowing the device to capture sharper and more detailed images. A new 48MP Telephoto camera features a tetraprism design with a sensor 56 percent larger than before, enhancing sharpness in bright light and detail in darker shots. The 4x optical zoom at 100mm is ideal for portraits, while the 8x optical zoom at 200mm offers extended reach and creative options. The updated Photonic Engine leverages machine learning to maintain detail, reduce noise, and improve colour accuracy. Digital zoom now reaches up to 40x, and users can customise their photos with next-generation Photographic Styles, including a new Bright style in iOS 26 that enhances skin tones and adds vibrance.
The iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max feature a new Centre Stage front camera that enhances photo and video experiences. It includes the first square front camera sensor on iPhone, offering a wider field of view and up to 18MP resolution for detailed images. Users can capture photos and videos in portrait or landscape orientation. For group selfies, AI expands the field of view and shifts between orientations to fit everyone in the frame. The camera supports ultra-stabilised video in 4K HDR and allows simultaneous recording with Dual Capture. During FaceTime or third-party calls, Centre Stage keeps users stable and centered in frame.
With the powerful recording features like Dolby Vision HDR recording, 4K120 fps, ProRes Log, and support for ACES, iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max now adds ProRes RAW, Log 2, and genlock, a technique used to precisely synchronise video across multiple cameras and inputs. Genlock is supported by the new Blackmagic Design Camera ProDock, and ProRes RAW is supported by Final Cut Camera and Blackmagic Camera, with APIs available to developers.
iOS 26 enhances the iPhone experience with a new design, powerful Apple Intelligence capabilities, and significant app improvements. The Liquid Glass design makes apps more expressive and focuses on content while keeping iOS familiar. Apple Intelligence offers Live Translation for text and audio, aiding communication in Messages, FaceTime, and Phone. Visual intelligence enables users to capture screenshots and take action on any content viewed. Developers can access the on-device foundation model for intelligent, privacy-protected experiences even offline. New tools for calls and messages help reduce distractions, and iOS 26 adds features to CarPlay, Apple Music, Maps, Wallet, and introduces Apple Games, a centralized app for all games.
